Il motoscafo porta sull'isola di San Giulio in pochi minuti e da lì comincia un'altra fantastica visita. Il panorama è semplicemente paradisiaco! Nice quiet and very interesting location. The narrow streets are full of small shops of all kinds. The motorboat takes you to the island of San Giulio in a few minutes and from there another fantastic visit begins. The view is simply heavenly!

Abbiamo visitato questa cittadina in riva al lago d'orta, molto caratteristica con le sue vie e visitando l'isola (in 2 minuti di battello ci si arriva). Sull'isola c'è la Basilica di San Giulio, molto molto particolare..... da visitare, ovviamente nel rispetto del luogo di culto. Non abbiamo visitato il Sacro Monte di Orta, ma osservando il luogo passando in macchina credo valga la pena di visitarlo. Consiglio questa escursione. Beautiful town on the lake !! We did not visit the Sacro Monte di Orta, but observing the place passing by car I think it is worth a visit. I recommend this excursion.

Anche solo una passeggiata nella piazza centrale restituisce un'idea di eleganza di altri tempi, è anche possibile visitare l'isola verso la quale il paese si affaccia, dove è presente un convento di suore di clausura. Un consiglio: dalla rotonda della strada statale, circa 200 metri sulla destra dopo aver passato villa Crespi, resa famosa dallo chef Cannavacciuolo, si può seguire uno stretto sentiero tutto a bordo lago molto caratteristico, che in circa mezz'ora vi porterà direttamente nella piazza centrale del paese. Il centro storico si snoda tra stradine di pietra che arrivano a lambire l’acqua e strutture caratteristiche molto amate dai turisti. Merita assolutamente una visita. Vicoli da esplorare, meravigliosi scorci verso il lago e verso il Sacro Monte d'Orta (che consiglio vivamente di visitare!)e se si sale un po' a piedi...Panorama mozzafiato sull'Isola di San Giulio! Dalla piazza principale partono i traghetti ogni 15 minuti al costo di €4.50 a/r, comodi e accessibili ai cani per raggiungere l'Isola e varie altre destinazioni A village on a human scale! Alleys to explore, wonderful views towards the lake and towards the Sacro Monte d'Orta (which I highly recommend to visit!) And if you go up a little on foot ...
