★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Montemarcello è un borgo bellissimo, ha una posizione davvero ottimale, a sud ha lo splendido panorama del golfo dei Poeti e tutt'intorno è immerso nella natura. Per tanti suoi aspetti è stato inserito nei borghi più belli d'Italia. Inoltre tutto il suo territorio è stato inserito nel parco regionale di Montemarcello- Magra nel 1985. La sua storia essendo una frazione del comune di Ameglia, è ricca ed interessante. I primi cenni storici tratto da documenti risalgono 1286. Come altri borghi ritroviamo la storia del Vescovato di Luni, poi di Castruccio Castracani di Lucca, in seguito della Repubblica Genovese e ancora viene conteso in una lotta di potere tra Genova e Firenze. Il suo percorso di battaglie e avvenimenti lperseguita, un grave bombardamento nella seconda guerra mondiale. Ad oggi il borgo è una perla, tenuto con moltissima cura, si possono ammirare case ristrutturate e bei passaggi voltati, la porta d'ingresso è del XV secolo. Trovo che questo borgo è incantevole e armonioso!
Montemarcello is a beautiful village, it has a truly optimal position, to the south it has the splendid panorama of the Gulf of Poets and all around it is surrounded by nature. In many respects it has been included in the most beautiful villages in Italy. Furthermore, its entire territory was included in the Montemarcello-Magra regional park in 1985. Its history, being a fraction of the municipality of Ameglia, is rich and interesting. The first historical notes taken from documents date back to 1286. Like other villages we find the history of the Bishopric of Luni, then of Castruccio Castracani of Lucca, later of the Genoese Republic and still contended in a power struggle between Genoa and Florence. His path of battles and events followed, a severe bombing in World War II. Today the village is a pearl, kept with great care, you can admire renovated houses and beautiful vaulted passages, the entrance door is from the fifteenth century. I find this village to be enchanting and harmonious!
