Nice apartaments. We were happy with our stay.

A nice place spoiled by rules and rude staff. We just stayed at BRA for a week. We have stayed at hundreds of hotels worldwide and this would rate as one of the worst stays we have had. We visited Bibione last year and had a great time at a different resort. When we arrived, our children went out to play in the garden. There were a handful of children in the garden, but as soon as our kids started to play with a large, soft inflatable ball a staff member came over and told them off quite aggressively. Despite virtually no-one being in the garden, the kids playing well away from anyone, playing with a soft ball and the rules allowing 'soft balls' - the staff member was insistent they could not play. They returned back to the apartment in tears and did not want to go back outside. This led to us trying to reason with him - but he just shrugged his shoulders and said 'these are the rules, talk to the manager'. After a few minutes of heated discussion, a duty manager came out and proceeded to shout repeatedly at my wife "Speak Italian! and if you don't like the rules then leave." and the stormed off back to the reception. Ate least 5 or 6 other families - some with children less than 5 yrs old were told not to play with balls in the garden. We just put our foot down and played in the garden with the children. At lunchtime the children wanted to swim and were then evicted from the pool. No-swimming from 1pm to 3 pm. Excellent. The heat of the day and no-one can swim. On the bright side at least the message to exit the pool is played from loudspeakers in 3 languages. The following morning we wanted to go riding for the day, so we enquired if we could use some of the rental bikes. We were advised the bikes can only be rented from 9-1pm and from 3-8pm (apparently bicycles need a siesta as well). When I muttered "another fantastic rule!" the duty manager confronted quite aggressively and said (this is verbatim): "You must not provoke me. I will pretend that I did not hear what you said. There are rules and the most important rule is that you do what we tell you to do". The rudeness and high handedness of the staff was quite breathtaking. What could otherwise be quite a nice resort is completely spoiled by rules that make little sense and staff that are downright rude and have little regard for how they treat customers. We spoke with a number of other families. Some had stayed before, but ALL said they found the staff so rude and the rules unfriendly to families with children and would not be returning. One family left early vowing not to return. There are many nice, friendly, family friendly resorts in Bibione - this is not one of them.

Superb place. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Great pool area. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Location is excellent. Property is gated for better security.
