A	A on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antichissima cattedrale ariana, eretta proprio per i vescovi ariani nel periodo di dominazione di Teodorico e convertita come altre in seguito alla riconquista bizantina al culto cattolico. Ora dedicata al culto ortodosso. Per la subsidenza il pavimento originale si trova in profondità ed a seguito dei bombardamenti molte parti sono andate compromesse. Il portale in realtà è del 500 ma l'ambone in marmo greco è originale e del VI secolo. Più piccola rispetto le altre basiliche di Ravenna si presenta a tre navate divise da 14 colonne con splendidi capitelli costituiti da materiale ed opera locale. Fiori e croci fra foglie di acanto fanno da bellissimi dettagli! Non dimenticate di ammirare la piccola finestrella in facciata perché cela la bellissima ed originale trifora! Now dedicated to Orthodox worship. Due to the subsidence, the original floor is deep and due to the bombardment many parts have been compromised. The portal is actually from the 500 but the ambo in Greek marble is original and from the sixth century. Smaller than the other basilicas of Ravenna, it has three naves divided by 14 columns with splendid capitals consisting of local material and artwork. Flowers and crosses between acanthus leaves make beautiful details! Don't forget to admire the small window on the façade because it hides the beautiful and original three-light window!

Una volta cacciati i Goti, attorno al 560, i cristiani riconciliarono la chiesa al proprio culto dedicandola a San Teodoro, e in seguito, allo Spirito Santo. La facciata è dominata dal portico rinascimentale ad archi. L’interno da tre navate divise da due fili da sette colonne con capitelli e pulvini, custodisce un prezioso ambone marmoreo d’età teorodiciana. Attualmente la chiesa ospita la comunità ortodossa a Ravenna.
