★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo luogo mistico che sorge su un promontorio/sperone di roccia. Trattasi del monastero in cui ha vissuto San Francesco. Oltre alla visita per aspetti religiosi, si godono bellissime viste sulla vallata di Bibbiena e Poppi. Il bosco circostante è molto bello e ricco di sentieri.
 Beautiful mystical place that stands on a promontory / rock outcrop. This is the monastery where St. Francis lived. In addition to the visit for religious aspects, you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley of Bibbiena and Poppi. The surrounding forest is very beautiful and full of paths.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mosto molto bello e suggestivo sopratutto per il silenzio e la tranquillità. L'edificio in se non mi hanno entusiasmato ma il panorama ed il bosco che lo circondano sono stupendi.
Very beautiful and evocative must especially for the silence and tranquility. The building itself did not impress me but the landscape and the surrounding woods are wonderful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolut sehenswerte Klosteranlage hoch oben am Berg...schon die Anfahrt ist ein kleines Abenteuer....das Stück Fußweg zum Kloster ist dann einfach zu bewältigen...besonders beeindrucken die Keramikbilder der della Robbia´s...alleine dafür lohnt sich der Besuch
Absolutely worth seeing monastery high up on the mountain ... already the journey is a little adventure .... the walk to the monastery is then easy to master ... especially impress the ceramic pictures of della Robbia's ... alone worth it the visit

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dalla piazza detta del Quadrante si accede alla Basilica Maggiore, a navata unica e dalla forma a croce latina. Iniziata nel 1348 e terminata solo nel 1509, la chiesa è cinta da un bel porticato del Quattrocento ed è corredata da un campanile di 24 metri d'altezza. Al suo interno conserva autentici capolavoro artistici, quali le ceramiche di Andrea della Robbia. Ma ciò che più mi ha colpito e comunque mi è rimasto maggiormente impresso è la Cappella delle reliquie, dove spicca il consunto saio di San Francesco, alcune sue umili suppellettili e un panno di lino intriso del sangue del suo costato. Nel complesso una chiesa semplice, dallo spirito pienamente francescano, ma carica di suggestioni.
From the square known as the Quadrante you enter the Basilica Maggiore, with a single nave and a Latin cross shape. Begun in 1348 and finished only in 1509, the church is surrounded by a beautiful 15th century portico and is accompanied by a bell tower 24 meters high. Inside it preserves authentic artistic masterpieces, such as the ceramics of Andrea della Robbia. But what struck me most and in any case remained most impressed on me is the Chapel of the relics, where the worn-out habit of St. Francis, some of his humble furnishings and a linen cloth soaked in the blood of his side stand out. Overall a simple church, with a fully Franciscan spirit, but full of suggestions.
