Best bar restaurant in the area, owner (Diego) and very kind and competent staff. If you happen to pass by, you have to stop and eat at the Duomo. Delicious dishes, the photos speak for themselves.

Let's say they are 4 stars + 1 of trust for the courage to invest in Castroreale and try (successfully) to relaunch this beautiful village. My experience is positive, but with a little bit of improvement. Let's start from the context: fine and elegant, I would say from a medium-high level restaurant. The presentation of the dishes: well structured and very nice (especially on pasta). Choice on the menu: limited, similar to a trattoria. The very rich appetizer is stratospheric, but without alternatives. Two first not exactly summer and 4 second courses (of which, however, 2 are meat rolls, with pistachio or lemon). I don't know if the menu varies according to the day, but I take the liberty of suggesting that the owner add some fresher dishes for the summer. However, what I ate was really good (so few things, but done well). Service: very kind staff at the table and a good organization, the only flaw is a few screams coming from inside in moments of maximum pressure. There is, but appearances in this sector also count (sorry). Price: luckily this is also a trattoria (appetizer from 18 euros, other dishes, all large portions, between 10 and 12 euros), the wines I think are between 20/25, but I would say that they are from good Sicilian wineries. I dwelt a little bit just because I hope the place is avoided by those who then put negative reviews because they can't find pizza for their son ... You won't find it here. I do my best to the owners, I hope they don't take it if I have allowed myself some good-natured suggestions. I plan to come back for dinner with them soon.

Consigliato.
A good autumn Sunday lunch! There were two of us took an appetizer which includes two dishes. The first a mix of cold cuts and cheeses accompanied by honey and jams, the second dish mainly based on vegetables. We had organic wine by the glass and two first courses, tagliatelle with mushrooms and tortelli with chestnuts. Excellent value for money, we paid just over 50 euros for two. The very kind owner offered us coffee and a typical biscuit of the country, based on anise, very good. The atmosphere is also very relaxing, there are canvases and paintings in many corners of the room. Recommended.

Restaurant with elegant furnishings, refined cuisine that aims at the rediscovery of traditions, a kind, friendly, educated and intelligent manager who carries out not only a commercial project but also of cultural enhancement. Restaurant of good memories, with an excellent quality / price ratio, which made my visit special in this splendid Sicilian town that is Castroreale where I will certainly return. Thank you so much for the beautiful Sunday!

I am cycling from Naples to Mt Etna and stopped in this hilltop village. Although out of season and the restaurant seemed closed the host opens up and cooked me an amazing lunch. Two hot starters of spinach, garlic, olives , mushrooms, artichoke and capers. Followed by a big bowl of spaghetti and meat in a tomato sauce. I even had a 20 minute snooze in the relaxing family atmosphere. A stop off that feed the soul as well as the body. Highly recommend. Adrian

The restaurant is on the beautiful main square in Castroreale right in front of the dom where you can enjoy an amazing view of the Eolian islands. The menue offers a good choice of very special dishes all prepared with local ingredients. The quality is therefore really good and it simply tastes heavenly ?. The restaurant also offers the best granite and ice cream, for a sweet in between or a great typical Sicilian breakfast. A perfect address if you want to link a great dinner to a visit to Castroreale which is officially listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy. I advise to reserve in order to enjoy a table outside with the great view and the fresh air in the evening.

Excellent freshly prepared, local and delicious food by a delightful chef and friendly host! We arrived in Castroreale the night before, and our lodging host recommended the restaurant. Unfortunately when we stopped by the chef was away - completely understandable as it's mid November and completely the off-season! (We have run into this other places too.) That night we went to Castropub which serves great pizza. We told the host we would return the next night. I am so beyond glad we did! The food is delicious, prepared freshly by the chef from local specialities and delicacies. The restaurant is welcoming and cosy (it is November!), and the host gracious. We had the appetizer taster first, with cheese, meat, and cooked seasonal vegetables (so focus!) ravioli filled with vegetables and white ragu. And ravioli filled with chestnuts (!!) And sausage and mushroom ragu. For dessert, local traditional seasonal dish of black rice (a kind of rice pudding with almond, chocolate, and coffee) and apple pie. Along with delicious wine! A truly amazing meal we really enjoyed. We are very grateful they opened up for us in this off-season! Visit them if you are in Castroreale!
