Impianto termale facente parte di una domus privata all'epoca romana, la collina di Montevergine era il quartiere residenziale durante l'epoca romana. Qui si susseguivano le lussuose domus, molte delle quali inglobavano al loro interno aree termali, adeguate alle esigenze dei proprietari della domus.
Nel cortile d'ingresso del monastero, a pochi metri, potrete ammirare quello che rimane di una strada lastricata romana, composta da grandi massi basaltici.
