★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I seriously cannot believe the good reviews for this B&B. The room was ‘Alex’ on the ground floor right next to the entrance and breakfast area, outside the window was the cobbled street - which despite being a small town was fairly constant with cars rumbling past until very late. The bathroom has a door directly out onto the street, very unusual and unnerving too. Make sure you have earplugs if you sleep lightly like me.
The owner spoke limited English, and I had a broken radiator which was stuck on boiling hot. He eventually fixed it, but then I found the shower had a broken hose holder too. Left it alone. TV is up by in the ceiling of the room and there’s only one English Channel to watch. The room and beds are fairly old and I was itching quite a lot during the night.
Breakfast? well that was help yourself - although there’s very little to help yourself to. The only thing the owner put out on the morning was some meats and a few croissants. The rest of the offerings are permanently left there. No kettle - I asked for tea and was given a bottle of water and told to heat it in the microwave.
It seems this place is left to run itself, and is aimed squarely at the money conscious among you - but then again I’ve stayed in two other places in town (fully booked this time), that were brilliant.
I never saw the owner in the morning at all, so I just left the key and departed.
Skip this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: Price. Comfy bed.. Negative: Everything else. The owner speaks very little English. The room was like a sauna & radiator wouldn't turn off. The owner did fix it - after dismantling the valve. The breakfast in a hallway outside the room and left for you to serve yourself, but there's not much to choose from. If you want tea, you'll need to heat up a bottle of water in the microwave. My room was next to the street and I could not sleep due to passing cars on the cobblestones. Bathroom has a door directly out onto the road and doesn't feel safe..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: Thank you for a great stay. The breakfast was fantastic and the room was good. Overall great stay would recommend. Great value for money. Would likely stay again, especially in winter as the room was warm.. Negative: The bed was a little uncomfortable and it was difficult to keep the room as cool as we would have liked as opening the window the traffic would keep us awake..
