★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fun but challenge walk to the top. Many stairs but rewarded with great views and nice church. You clean even climb to the top of the church up a narrow tower with great views!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a must visit environment for all those visiting Bologna for the first time. It leads you right up to San Luca cathedral of Bologna. Climbing up, it's a place where must youth of Bologna come for sports, running of walking for exercise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hilly part of the Via San Luca starts at the Arco del Meloncello and takes approximately 2.3 km to reach the Santuario della Madonna di San Luca. Wikipedia declares the gradient to range from 10.8 to 18%. It is taxing at the beginning, but then you get used to the rhythm and it really is a pleasant walk. The scenery is picturesque.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience. It is a longest portico in the world, around 2,5 km long. It's great if you want to check panorama of Bologna. Also, it's perfect if you wonna stay fit after eating pasta for several days:-)
Dress comfortably if you're planing on visiting.
