Husband had the sea bass and loved it as well. Fresh and flavorful served with a generous portion of veggies and potatoes. We finished with tiramisu which was also excellent. Really slow service but with the right company, worth the wait. A bit expensive considering it's off the beaten tourist path but at least it was good quality. I would say it's a great date night restaurant or to showcase a more "real" Venezia outside of tourist traps. A place where locals will dine.

Very relaxed neighborhood and the chef is aspiring high quality and interesting combinations … how about wasabi flakes in the sweet dessert or great soft octopus with smoked (!) potatoes that adds this special Twist - and not so pricy than other Venetian restaurants …
A	Alfredo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antica Osteria da Gino Sestier Castello di Venezia, a “calle” out of the tourist flow, but at a convenient distance from all tourist attractions. Booked an outdoor table on the canal. A wonderful sunny day, the right temperature to enjoy a lunch break. Friendly and attentive staff, excellent quality of food. Very fresh fish, simple but innovative ingredients in the assembly of various flavours. Typical Venetian food, tried in many places, but special by Gino. Grilled “canestrelli”, orecchiette with amatriciana prawns, linguine with squid, paprika and saffron, caponata… my mouth waters just thinking about it. We will have to go back to try the other dishes. Highly recommended. Well done.

We were the only people there for lunch on a weekday but had a great, relaxing meal, one of our best in Venice. Food and service were top notch. I had pasta with squid ink and it was delicious!
