 I really like this Alpe, easy to reach on foot, quiet place and from the Cross you can enjoy an excellent view

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quando in agosto avete voglia di lasciare gli alpeggi più affollati salite a Esigo. Ps l'auto si lascia giù sulla statale e si sale comodamente a piedi all'ombra del bosco.
When in August you feel like leaving the most crowded mountain pastures go up to Esigo. Ps the car is left down on the highway and you climb comfortably on foot in the shade of the forest.

Fortuna sua non è stato visto altrimenti a quest ora...
Ci sono le telecamere...chissà se qualcuno le consulta per queste cose

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Scoperto per caso come ripiego ad una giornata all'Alpe Devero dato che era tutto esaurito.
Ideale per un gita con picnic per famiglia con bambini. C'è anche un agriturismo su cui appoggiarsi in caso di necessità o anche solo per un caffè.
Base di partenza anche per passeggiate più impegnative.
Discovered by chance as a fallback to a day at Alpe Devero as it was sold out.
Ideal for a family picnic outing with children. There is also a farmhouse to lean on in case of need or just for a coffee.
Starting point for even more demanding walks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Esigo sorge su un terrazzo erboso affacciato sul torrente Devero.
Circondato dai boschi è davvero un luogo idilliaco anche grazie ai residenti che ne curano benissimo la manutenzione.
La strada che porta all'alpeggio è chiusa al traffico e questo garantisce la tranquillità. Trenta minuti a piedi (in salita) sono una fatica sopportabile.
Attira l'attenzione dell'escursionista anche il lindo oratorio di san Rocco risalente al 1600 epoca in cui si diffuse il culto verso questo santo che era considerato protettore dalla peste.
Esigo rises on a grassy terrace overlooking the Devero stream.
Surrounded by woods it is truly an idyllic place also thanks to the residents who take care of it very well.
The road leading to the mountain pasture is closed to traffic and this guarantees tranquility. Thirty minutes on foot (uphill) is a bearable effort.
The neat oratory of San Rocco also attracts the attention of the hiker, dating back to 1600, when the cult spread to this saint who was considered protector of the plague.
