In this place you can take your tax number but you should prepare your passport and photocopy of passport and schengen visa if you have.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hours listed are currently correct. Courteous staff, limited English. To apply for a new codice fiscale number/card you will need a copy of your passport/ID to give to them. There is a copy shop just a few doors down (walk left from the entrance/exit). The agency gives you a certified copy of your application with your new CF number on the spot then mails your card later to the Italian address that you specify. I was in and out in about an hour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't know if this is normal in italy (since the bureaucracies are the worst here) but I've waited more than four hours to get my fiscal code. Recommend you arrive early in the morning, brink something to read or do while you wait and bring the documents you need ready to use (for the fiscal code it's a copy of your identity card).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Agenzia delle Entrate 1 has always been a dreadful place to be. Standing in the queue in order to get a number that will take you to another queue.
After Covid19, the situation is an absolute nightmare: the offices "work" only 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 8.15am to 12.15pm but that is not all. One has actually has to go around 6am, write the name on a paper outside the offices, wait for the angry security guys to come around 7.45am to distribute the numbers and then wait another hour or so in order to get in.
Italian bureacucracy at its finest, the people who are responsible for this horrible situation should be ashamed.
