★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La cittadina di Alatri è stata una piacevole scoperta, con il borgo chiuso nelle antiche mura, dove si può passeggiare per vicoli e piazze ammirando bellezze quali la collegiata di Santa Maria Maggiore, la chiesa di San Francesco e San Silvestro (quest'ultima purtroppo chiusa), il museo civico nello storico Palazzo Gottifredi
Ma quello che maggiormente mi ha colpito sono due autentiche perle:
1) l'affresco del "Cristo nel Labirinto", unico nel suo genere, con il Cristo Pantocratore al centro di un labirinto, scoperto per caso solo nello scorso secolo in una intercapedine dell'ex chiostro della chiesa di San Francesco (l'ingresso è sul retro della chiesa, in piazza Regina Margherita). Da vedere assolutamente per la modica cifra di € 2,00
2) l'Acropoli, posta nel cuore del centro storico, cinta da mura ciclopiche in perfetto stato di conservazione, la cui datazione controversa oscilla tra il VI ed il III sec. a.C. L'ampia spianata dell'acropoli è un bellissimo parco cittadino da cui si gode di un magnifico panorama
 The town of Alatri was a pleasant discovery, with the village closed in the ancient walls, where you can stroll through alleys and squares admiring beauties such as the collegiate church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the church of San Francesco and San Silvestro (the latter unfortunately closed ), the civic museum in the historic Palazzo Gottifredi
But what struck me most are two authentic pearls:
1) the fresco of "Christ in the Labyrinth", unique of its kind, with the Christ Pantocrator at the center of a labyrinth, discovered by chance only in the last century in a cavity of the former cloister of the church of San Francesco (the entrance is at the back of the church, in Piazza Regina Margherita). A must see for the modest sum of € 2.00
2) the Acropolis, located in the heart of the historic center, surrounded by cyclopean walls in a perfect state of conservation, whose controversial dating oscillates between the 6th and 3rd centuries. B.C. The wide esplanade of the acropolis is a beautiful city park from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama

L'acropoli regala una bel panorama, trattasi di un parco, pubblico, con una chiesa.
Al parco si accede da più entrate e archi poiché all'interno delle mura.
Alatri è una cittadina graziosa.
Domenica mattina poco frequentata eccetto nella piazza e via centrale dove sono un paio di bar.
Interessante per una tranquilla gita fuori porta.
Very pleasant walk
The acropolis offers a beautiful panorama, it is a public park with a church.
The park is accessed by several entrances and arches since it is inside the walls.
Alatri is a nice little town.
Little crowded Sunday morning except in the main square and street where there are a couple of bars.
Interesting for a quiet trip out of town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The stone walls around this place are amazing. The polygonal cyclopean walls are very interesting. If you are into stonework, this place will be interesting to you. The surrounding town/area is beautiful and couldn't help but look at all the interesting alleys and doors. Fantastic location with beautiful views that make it work the trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique place with huge polygonal walls erected thousands of years ago before the Roman era. Incredible to see how through the millennia these out of this world works of human labor and genius have not only survived but have evolved in the use that humans still make of it.
One of the so many wonders of Italy.
