There are an infinitude of restaurants in Milan, and a large portion of them are very very good. This is one of them, but being up in Isola, and out-of-the-way at that, it's unlikely that you'd stumble upon it. Which is a shame, because it can tick all the right boxes.
โขย It's *local*. Pretty much everybody you see around you is going to be somebody who's either from the 'hood, or been there a whole bunch-a times
โข It's *friendly*. The staff is friendly to a fault, happy to help, and will willingly have long conversations with you about the food, the wine, and, well anything, come to think of it ?
โขย It's *good*. The food is done really really well, in that place where simple meets extraordinary. The pastas are done right, and the dishes are effortlessly balanced.
โข It's got excellent wine. Seriously. And yes, you can get really good stuff by the bottle, but you're best off getting a carafe of something...
So yeah, don't let the nautical gew-gaws on the walls distract you, or warn you away, go here for the food, and be happy!

โ โ โ โ โ Fun local spot. Very good portions, lots of small little treats and extras to enjoy along the way. The service was old school and excellent! Nothing fancy or pretentious, just recipes and familiar tastes as sometimes this is all you need. Come if you want a classic pasta or fish dish no fuss, why not. I really enjoyed my dinner here. I'd totally come back for a random dinner if I am in the neighbourhood and don't want to spend too much or hustle for a table.
