I was skeptical as I expected to be disappointed, instead, I must say I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. The Mercato Centrale truly surprised me. Let's start with the only two negatives that come to mind: It is rather hidden and i found it difficult to actually find the entrance!! I wondered around in the translation for a while until finding the small door. They should make more of a big deal of this space, adding signs throughout inside the station and outdoors. They really could make a big deal of this hidden little under-world and turn it into a fantastic asset for the station and the surrounding area. Second: it could be even bigger and I hope it does become expanded. There must be ore unused space at that beautiful iconic Central station, so I hope they expand this Mercato. Positives now: The atmosphere. Albeit, not comparable in any way in terms of size and ambient, context.etc. I can honestly say it reminded my of being back in the food market of Camden Town or Borrow Market of London. A tiny version, and yet with a little more work needed to give it a stronger sense of underworld, but the atmosphere amongst the food stalls, the selection ranging from Chinese, Mexican, Italian, etc..food stalls, with the nice wooden tables lined up along the corridor, it all created a wonderful low-key and vibrant, dare I say 'ethnic'atmosphere. The food on offer ranges immensely from fresh bakery with the most amazing selection of loaves of bread, pizza al trancio and focaccia using excellent quality ingredients laden ontop; Chinese freshly made food on the moment, Mexican, pasticceria siciliana with fresh cannoli, cassate baba, infinite cakes and pastries; a gelateria; chocolaterie; a meet stall for meet lovers offering all sorts of special meat cuts to be cooked on the spot; fish; artisanal bears and wines. A nice buzz and i hope, to become further developed to become bigger and open longer hours. Nice effort Milan :)

The idea of creating a Market like the San Miguel in Madrid in Milan was fantastic ! Not that Milan was missing great places to eat or hang out, the more the merrier. I've been twice and I think my goal would be to eat in each single place of the market ?? They all look so good and the ones I've tried already were great in quality and taste. There is also a good choice of beers and wines, and the location in Centrale station is great to welcome you to Milano.

Inside Mercato Centrale will you have plenty of options to try: foods, drinks, deserts. The corridors are very narrow, which may be difficult for mobility. Prices are a little upward than other places but worths being there for the good music and fun atmosphere that will surround you. Also is very confusing how you order you food, which line you should take etc.

Stopped by before we got on our train home to Florence, and we wished we had more time! This place was amazing! Such a vibe, and would be perfect for dates or grabbing drinks.

What an incredible place! Everyone is absolutely so friendly. Every restaurant stall looks delicious. Certainly could spend hours here! Really loved it and would love to return (again) when I’m back in Milan. We went twice and I’m very happy we did. Do checkout the upstairs. I remember tasting a bit of bread with incredible pesto recently. Everything is very clean and COVID safe. They check your green pass as soon as you sit down but also may ask if you are standing around. They are quite on top of it. Today I got the tagliata after having tried a taste of it the other night. So incredible. I like it quite rare and it was done unbelievably well. Check out the stand β€œla carne e i salami”. Highly recommend! Also had a nice glass of wine the other night.

Great place and great experience! The Mercato Centrale really is a place you should visit in Milan. It's all very modern, beautiful and clean. There are many different options of food as they have gourmet islands of every type of dish, from seafood to pizza and dessert. Staff of every island I order was receptive and kind. It's a different and worthwhile experience!

Not crowded, easy to decide which food you suits better. The beverages come at your table in a separated bill. Everything easier with credit card and touch payments. Friendly staff and nice corner also in less crowded areas. Prices are ok according to the excellence of the offer.

Amazing place to wait for your train ? everything is fresh & yummy ? if you’re looking for more quiet & fancier spaces, try seating up stairs that less people go to. We shopped at the bakery, focaccia & brioche was awesome, potato pizza was a bit raw though. Also tried steak in meat shop, one of the freshest & best I’ve ever tasted. Totally recommended
