Si attesta possa risalire al XII secolo e che un tempo l'impianto abbaziale fosse molto più ampio, con altri ambienti civili circostanti. L'esterno semplice, in puro stile romanico pugliese, nasconde pregiati affreschi di diverse epoche, di cui, purtroppo, restano alcuni metri quadri, testimonianza che un tempo potesse averne sull'intera superficie e sulle due navate laterali oggi scomparse. Una chicca del comune di Melendugno assolutamente da non perdere! A particular place, fascinating and full of mysticism. It is attested that it can date back to the 12th century and that once the abbey plant was much larger, with other surrounding civil environments. The simple exterior, in pure Apulian Romanesque style, hides precious frescoes from different eras, of which, unfortunately, some square meters remain, evidence that once it could have had them on the entire surface and on the two side aisles that have now disappeared. A gem of the town of Melendugno absolutely not to be missed!
