I visited Milazzo when it was very gray and rainy so the churches also seemed gray and heavy in the Baroque; nevertheless the visit is worth its weight in gilding ...

Papino che, portato in processione, il 15 Aprile del 1798, per una grave siccità, lacrimò inispiegabilmente. Subito l'aere si riempi di nubi e piovve per 3 giorni, mentre gli uomini e le campagne erano in ginocchio per la carestia e la mancanza di acqua. Nella pagina di cui vedi il link sono citati i documenti. Il Crocefisso fu realizzato da un frate, Umile di Petralia, che morì in odore di santità. Esiste una tela all'altare maggiore che raffigura, tra l'altro il martire San Papino ,che la chiesa cattolica condivide con la Chiesa Ortodossa.
