L’area a lago è perfetta per una cerimonia con vista spettacolare mentre il giardino ombreggiato fronte Villa è la cornice ideale per l’aperitivo. La presenza di una tensostruttura stabile consente di cenare all’aperto anche in caso di brutto tempo. Proprietari fantastici e molto collaborativi. Da wedding planner è una delle mie location preferite! A magnificent wedding venue with one of the most romantic gardens on Lake Como. The lake area is perfect for a ceremony with spectacular views while the shady garden in front of Villa is the ideal setting for an aperitif. The presence of a stable marquee allows you to dine outdoors even in bad weather. Fantastic and very cooperative owners. As a wedding planner it is one of my favorite locations!

Kann man halt für Hochzeitsfeiern oder ähnliches anmieten. We were here at a wedding reception. Nice park that also goes down a few steps to the water. Private parking is further up. Can you just rent for wedding celebrations or the like.

La villa venne costruita in un sito di particolare interesse archeologico, fatto testimoniato dai ritrovamenti in loco di umboni di scudo oggi conservati nel Museo archeologico Paolo Giovio di Como. È circondata da una cinta muraria che probabilmente era parte di un insediamento militare appartenente all'antico sistema fortificato dell’isola Comacina. All'interno delle mura si trovava inoltre un oratorio dedicato a San Giovanni. Tra il 1209 e 1211 un gruppo di monache benedettine provenienti dal monastero dei Santi Faustino e Giovita, anticamente situato sull'isola, si stabilì in questo luogo. Le monache ristrutturarono il vecchio oratorio e vi eressero accanto il loro nuovo monastero, infine soppresso nel 1786. La proprietà venne quindi convertita in residenza di villeggiatura. I lavori di ristrutturazione compresero la demolizione tanto dell'antico oratorio e del convento, anche se alcune porzioni murarie di quest'ultimo restano inglobate nell’attuale villa. L'immobile, tutt'oggi proprietà privata, ospita oggi eventi come matrimoni e convegni aziendali. Villa Monastero is a historic residence in Lenno on Lake Como in Italy. The villa was built on a site of particular archaeological interest, as evidenced by the findings on site of shield umbons now preserved in the Paolo Giovio Archaeological Museum in Como. It is surrounded by a wall that was probably part of a military settlement belonging to the ancient fortified system of the Comacina island. Inside the walls there was also an oratory dedicated to San Giovanni. Between 1209 and 1211 a group of Benedictine nuns from the monastery of Saints Faustino and Giovita, formerly located on the island, settled in this place. The nuns renovated the old oratory and built their new monastery next to it, which was finally suppressed in 1786. The property was then converted into a holiday residence. The renovations included the demolition of both the ancient oratory and the convent, although some wall portions of the latter remain incorporated in the current villa. The property, still private property, now hosts events such as weddings and corporate conferences.

Covid has unfortunately meant that the day could not proceed as we had wanted it, with our loved ones flying in from all over the world. When we asked the Villa to move the date, the response was that this is only possible if we paid more of a deposit (we have already paid them 50%). Additionally, we have lost deposits to their exclusive vendors (catering, music) as well as a wedding planner and photographer (including fights). We understand that the industry has had a tough time but couples should also be considered, when a lot of time, money has been invested.
