★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Villa Merlo di S. Elisabetta è un antico baglio agricolo seicentesco con ingresso fortificato.
Fu riadattato a villa da Giuseppe Merlo che nel 1781 acquistò il titolo di Marchese di S. Elisabetta. Venne realizzata la grande terrazza che dava sul giardini di agrumi e sul panorama del Golfo, e si piantumarono dei filari di pini che fiancheggiavano il viale d' accesso dalla strada consolare.
Si costruì una piccola cappella, e lo scalone esterno verso il cortile.
Dopo alterne vicessitudini il monumento è stato comprato dal Comune di Ficarazzi, si è in attesa di un restauro.
The Villa Merlo di S. Elisabetta is an ancient seventeenth-century agricultural farm with a fortified entrance.
It was adapted to a villa by Giuseppe Merlo who in 1781 acquired the title of Marquis of S. Elisabetta. The large terrace was built that overlooked the citrus gardens and the view of the Gulf, and rows of pine trees were planted that lined the access road from the consular road.
A small chapel was built, and the external staircase towards the courtyard.
After various vicissitudes, the monument was bought by the Municipality of Ficarazzi, a restoration is awaited.
