Villa il Poggiale - 2

My family and I spent two wonderful nights at this spectacular villa in San Casciano. The location, grounds and views from the villa were absolutely beautiful!! The bedrooms and common areas are very comfortable and accommodating. The breakfast and dinners were excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. We all had a fantastic experience at The Villa il Poggiale it was one of the highlights of our Italy vacation. Highly recommended! Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to come back again soon!

Loved staying here for 4 nights with my husband and another couple in this elegant villa in San Casciano. The pool is wonderful, the service amazing and friendly and the setting is magical. Absolutely one of the best parts of our two week trip to Italy. No complaints at all. We had incredible food and the patio was a wonderful place to enjoy it. There were some larger groups there (cruise groups) but they handled it all well. Would love to return.

We stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful time. Breakfast and dinner were wonderful. Patricia in the spa provided a great massage. I would recommend. Truly a beautful and authenic place to stay.

We wanted a little bit of chill time between visiting Lucca and Florence and then Cinque Terre. The choice of hillside villas or farms is endless but we fell upon this one and I’m so glad we did! Firstly, we opted for dinner, bed and breakfast. I’m always a little concerned when we go for a dinner inclusive rate as you become a captive audience. No such worry at all here! As an example, dinner is four courses - first night was little tempura cheese parcels, followed by pasta with the most delicious homemade pesto, pork fillet with roasted vegetables and then creme brûlée. All served on a delightful terrace. Oh and a great wine menu! Breakfast is extensive and plentiful and has the yellowest eggs I’ve ever seen! We booked direct with the hotel ( the most delightful owner I have had the pleasure to meet), Do do this, you will get the best rate. The villa has always been a residence and it really does feel like you are part of someone’s home rather than some faceless, corporate hotel. The swimming pool is lovely , comfy beds surround and towels are provided each day. We opted for a superior room but were shown several before settling on one. It was huge with a huger comfy bed and very efficient air con. Plentiful hot water with shower and bath and great water pressure. We visited San Gimignano one day and you aren’t far from Sienna if you want to venture out. Free parking on site. We were lucky enough to sit and watch a fabulous lightning show on our second evening as the view across the Tuscan Hills is spectacular. Every single member of the team is friendly and personable. No one can do enough for you. We even opted for massages on our third day as the weather was changeable. I cannot recommend this place highly enough so all I’d say is, if you’re wavering, don’t. Just do it. You’ll not regret it!

A remarkably traditional hotel with high standards of dress-code, curtesy , comfort and cleanliness. A very well provided for breakfast buffet adds to the overall excellent hospitality experienced by demanding and discerning guests. If you want a showy, loud bar, with automated music everywhere, forget it! You come here if you enjoy softness of speech and manner. A rare and extremely pleasant stay that i hope to renew in the near future.

Hope to get back soon. What a picturesque villa. Like something out of a postcard. Set just outside of the village within a beautifully landscaped acreage, this could not have been a nice place to stay. Mateo greeted us upon our arrival and personally showed us around the villa and the grounds. Polite, professional and informative, his review was perfect way to start our stay. The rooms are nicely furnished, with a nice library for relaxing in and grounds that are both stunning and provide an awesome view. Mateo topped off our stay by recommending a local restaurant that was better than we could have wished for. Five stars and plans to get back as soon as we can!
