С момента постройки в 1565 г. до 2004 г. находилась в собственности венецианского семейства Эмо.К зданию усадьбы примыкают два длинных служебных крыла, призванные обслуживать обширное хозяйство графов Эмо Каподилиста. Склады с кукурузой и другой сельскохозяйственной продукцией, таким образом, подведены под одну крышу с господскими покоями. В своем трактате Палладио особо отмечал практичность такого расположения.
С суровой лаконичностью практически лишённого орнамента экстерьера контрастирует пышность фресок внутренних покоев. Их выполнил постоянный сотрудник Палладио — венецианский художник Джованни Баттиста Дзелотти (1526-78). Одна из комнат украшена аллегорическими символами наук и искусств; иные фрески повествуют о жизни Сципиона; на многих изображена богиня любви — Венера.
Beautiful. a World Heritage Site; one of the Palladian villas in the vicinity of Venice, in the village of Fanzolo (It.) near Vedelago; the prototype of many manor houses around the world. From the moment of construction in 1565 until 2004, it was owned by the Venetian family of Emo. Two long service wings adjoin the building of the estate, designed to serve the extensive household of the counts of Emo Capodilista. Warehouses with corn and other agricultural products are thus brought under one roof with the master's quarters. In his treatise, Palladio emphasized the practicality of such an arrangement.
The stern brevity of the exterior, which is practically devoid of ornament, contrasts with the splendor of the frescoes of the inner chambers. They were made by a permanent collaborator of Palladio - the Venetian artist Giovanni Battista Zelotti (1526-78). One of the rooms is decorated with allegorical symbols of sciences and arts; other frescoes tell of the life of Scipio; many depict the goddess of love - Venus.
