 The provincial capital of Lombardy, Varese is located in the Varese Pre-Alps at the foot of the Sacro Monte. The city is embellished by numerous parks and villas and surrounded by Mount Campo dei Fiori and the Sacro Monte with the path of the chapels of the via crucis with terracotta sculptural groups inside. Varese is named "City of the 7 Lakes" thanks to the presence of lakes of various sizes that surround it.
