Striking, rocky and harsh landscape but set in the green. The paths to get there are clean (We started from Santo Stefano, an area equipped for campers). Council a minimum of training.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da Rocca d'Aveto, superata la frazione di Roncolongo sulla sinistra della strada asfaltata, parte l'anello del Groppo Rosso, segnalato da un triangolo giallo. Si sale parecchio per un pò fino ad incontrare un bivio: a destra si va in 35 minuti sul Groppo Rosso, a sinistra si va in 10 minuti nella suggestiva Valle Tribolata, sulle pendici del Monte Roncalla. Optiamo per questa via e infatti dopo 10 minuti di salita leggera, uscendo dal bosco si apre lo sguardo su questa magnifica valle, tra la Val Nure e la Val d'Aveto. Subito colpisce l'aspetto tipico di un paesaggio lunare: con pinnacoli e ammassi caotici di rocce, che nasconde la sua origine vulcanica sottomarina, sorta da un oceano interposto tra due placche continentali, quando l’Appennino e i principali rilievi italiani non erano ancora sorti dal mare. Uno spettacolo maestoso!
From Rocca d'Aveto, after the hamlet of Roncolongo on the left of the paved road, the Groppo Rosso ring starts, marked by a yellow triangle. You go up a lot for a while until you reach a crossroads: to the right you go in 35 minutes to Groppo Rosso, to the left you go in 10 minutes to the suggestive Valle Tribolata, on the slopes of Monte Roncalla. We opt for this route and in fact after 10 minutes of gentle ascent, leaving the wood, our gaze opens up on this magnificent valley, between Val Nure and Val d'Aveto. The typical aspect of a lunar landscape immediately strikes: with pinnacles and chaotic masses of rocks, which hides its submarine volcanic origin, which arose from an ocean interposed between two continental plates, when the Apennines and the main Italian reliefs had not yet risen from the sea. A majestic sight!
