Wonderful People, Great Schedule Note: The week we spent with Tuscan Fitness was at Tenuta di Lupinari not Fontebussi. Fontebussi is closed. Recommend for the fit traveler. This was our first time spending a week in one place and it was great! Everything was included, but nothing was required. I'd do it again. Alix, David (sister/brother owners) and their small team do an incredible job of making sure everyone is comfortable and have what they need. Staff all spoke English (Italian and Spanish too). They are open most of the year and seem to accept bookings of any length from 3 days to several weeks. I liked that they fit my schedule. Activities: We stayed at Tenuta di Lupinari and all our classes were there. The classes were taught at the top of a tower with amazing views and nice breezes. It was a workout just to get to the classes... we had to climb a six story marble staircase to the top of the tower. Everyday there was a hike and at least one yoga class. On Tuesday and Friday there were wine tastings and on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday there were fitness classes (where according to a fitness watch, we were burning more than 300 calories). We were taken to local restaurants for dinner on Monday and Friday. Food/Drink: All meals were included. Our stay included two dinners out in two different towns. Water (naturale and frizzante), tea and coffee were always included.. Sometimes wine was served. Breakfast was always a choice of fruits, cereals and yogurt. Lunches and dinners varied, but all included multiple salads and lots of locally grown vegetables. They were always delicious, but included a lot more carbs than I usually eat. The meals were all several courses and some included pre-portioned options (with everyone getting the same portion). As I was working out so much, I ate everything without much thought, but I ate the same amount as a my larger male companion. Upon returning home, he lost a pound and I had gained several. So even though everything was healthy and fresh and we were working out more than usual, I should have been more careful. Participants: The maximum they allow is 20. On our week, there were 9 to 12 participants. Including my partner and me, there were three Americans max. The other participants were equally divided between Germans, Brits, and Swiss nationalities. Tip: If you go, bring lots of mosquito repellent (although it too is provided), sunscreen and your own shampoo/soap.

This is what a vacation truly should be. I flew into Florence and the connection to Fontebussi was a breeze. The location is stunning- lush green landscape and tiny villages perched on the sides of the hills. The food was delicious, I left with new eating habits and am still stunned that I lost weight while in Italy. The fitness side was perfect. I loved that you could go fully into it, or sit in the sun with a glass of wine. No pressure, no judgement- total freedom. With Sienna, Arezzo and Florence close by it actually made a perfect central location for exploring the area. But the most important part of this retreat, and what made it so incredibly special, are the people. There is so much care that goes into this operation and as a guest you really feel it. Alix, David and Paolo put all their heart into creating this environment and they are the reason that many in our group planned our return before we even left. If you are looking to really relax, de-stress, and hit the reset button on your life and health habits then I highly recommend a week with Tuscan Fitness.

I really loved my 7 days yoga retreat with Tuscan Fittnes. I had an amazing time relaxing and exercising, it was full of activities(yoga, hiking, bike ride, swimming, curcit training) and healthy foods.. The staff were so so so so friendly I felt at home surrounded by family and friends. And the view of the hills is just stunning... I will definitely consider coming back and recomending this to my friends

Highly recommended! After injuring my ankle during a fun run some years ago, my fitness had really taken a back seat. I needed a kickstart to get me back into exercise mode and Tuscan Fitness seemed like a great option. I like the fact that the activities were always on offer but I didn’t feel compelled or guilted into doing them and I could take my time easing back into feeling fit. The food was tasty and healthy but maybe a bit too much for me as I was trying to eat less and don’t find myself turning down food very often. Overall however, I had a great time and felt stronger and fitter when I left and have been able to keep it up since getting home. Thanks to you all and hope to see you again soon!

My review is that we had a great stay with Tuscan fitness at the Fontebussi resort. The communication before our trip was timely and they were really accommodating. The activity schedule was perfect and pitched at the right level so we could choose which activities to do when to get the balance of wellness and relaxation. We loved this place and will come back :-) Thank you to Gemma, David and Paolo for being so welcoming and helpful.

Had a great time at Tuscan Fitness at the lovely hotel in the middle of the Tuscan hills. I had signed up specifically for the yoga but ended up doing so much more, with trips to old villages, wine tastings and guided walking tours. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my yoga holiday at Tuscan Fitness. I met a lot of wonderful people. I tried different yoga styles and I learned a lot new things, which I thought I couldn't do.The room was great, the food was fantastic and we all sit together like a big family having fun and talking about our daily adventures and plans. Big thanks to Tuscan Fitness and Fontebussi team. It was a wonderful time in Tuscany

After visiting several health and fitness retreats, I find Tuscan Fitness is one of the only ones that has helped me achieve my fitness goals in the shortest amount of time, with the most amount of fun, and maintained the results long after as well. The program is based on a wholesome well balanced diet, each dish so unique and delicious, one does not get the feeling they are eating "healthy". The program is extremely well designed to suit all fitness levels and with the perfect mix of yoga, circuit training, and hiking, giving your body a total workout taking your strength and endurance levels to a whole new level. The hotel setting is just magnificent and breath taking in the middle of Chianti; I couldn't wait for the next hike to explore the region whilst working out. After visiting Tuscan Fitness last year, I not only managed to participate in a 100 mile bike marathon, but could finish it with a smile on my face. I have never had such a fun time losing weight, feeling healthy and getting stronger; Alix and the team are so personable and flexible to suit each clients needs helping them to leave smiling and having a truly remarkable experience. Thank you TF! I can't wait to come back!
