Tropis Hotel

Great city hotel, fantastic kitchen, perfect location very close to historical centre. ???

My experience while staying at Tropis Hotel was one of the best ever. I spent a few days there in the heart of the summer, and I have never stopped wanting to come back since.

Nice hotel with big swimming pool. Good service and Good food. The hotel had a wellness Center offering many services.

Great atmosphere, service, nothing bad to say. Great if you wanna walk to center of town or to the beach also you can grab a shuttle to the beach. Stayed for 9 days

Good, clean, staff great.. Went here after we had booked another hotel that was no good at all, last minute booking.. Private parking available.

NOT A 4* HOTEL Positives - good and quiet location, close to the city centre and to the train station - free shuttle to 2 beaches in Tropea, free umbrella and chair (very nice shuttle bus drivers, nicest people of the staff) - good swimming pool, nice clean water, closes in the evening though at 20:00 - drink prices are pretty cheap for a hotel - we had a room above reception -> good WiFi, but not all the rooms have WiFi, it depends on how far are you from the lobby - large balcony with a table and chairs, very good AC in the room - very lovely dinners, apparently the chef knows what he’s doing, all meals were delicious, they have themed dinners - we enjoyed one gala and one Calabrese Negatives - all staff (including reception) do not greet you when you meet them, you always say buon giorno first, they speak limited English (understandable), they are unprofessional, not cordial - we ordered breakfast package for a trip and when we came to pick it up at the reception in the morning, we were told the breakfast is open now (only some items of course, no fresh bread) but we didn’t know it in advance and had only a few minutes left before our departure to a trip; if only we were told this the night before... - F&B staff is just terrible - they lack organisation during dinners, they forget the drinks we ordered, they do not know the difference between a fillet and lamb chop, you can spend 45 minutes on dinner or 2 hours - you never know, it depends on who your server is; when you order a bottle of wine and do not finish it, you have it on your table the next day. However, one time we got bottle with maybe 2 dcl less that we left it last night (we took pictures just for fun). We didn’t order any more bottles as we didn’t trust the servers. - breakfast is not 4* quality, eggs are artificial, juices disgusting and from concentrate, there are only tomatoes from vegetables, one type of salami, ham and cheese, coffee (if you are lucky and the coffee machine is working) is not good - teas on the other hand and pretty good quality - dinner buffet is limited - sometimes 10 minutes after dinner starts there is nothing left and they do not put out any more plates - room: shower is ridiculously small, water flow is low you cannot even properly clean yourself; housekeeping is not very good, we came in the evening to our room one day and the balcony door was wide open! Our balcony on the first floor is accessible by almost anyone! Not to mention the room was extremely hot. Housekeepers clean your room while you’re having breakfast, so when you can back, the floor is wet... no full length mirror in the room. Overall the experience with this hotel was so so, I would come back to Tropea for sure but not to this hotel. I would choose one that actually likes having guests around.

It doesn't worth the money. I stayed at the room 213, smallest shower I ever used with a weak fixed water jet. Breakfast is low quality, 90% of the things are packaged, only fruits are fresh. Cappuccino is horrible. The gym... is not a gym! 6€ for having only a multifunctional machine, not even a free weight. Position not close to the center. In Tropea you can easily pay less and have better.

A nice hotel with clean and neat rooms. The reception is open 24 hours, and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming when we arrived in the middle of the night. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of different food to choose from. I won't recommend the lunch, the food was tasty but with small portions and few dishes. The hotel has enclosed parking for guests.
