Bello e romantico

Siamo stati in questo appartamento per tre giorni e diciamo semplicemente che è bello trovare posti così. Cura di tutti i dettagli, colazione, caffè, e sì, c'è frigo! Il proprietario è molto gentile e tutto è molto pulito. Posizione magnifica, importa! nel trastevere, ma lontano dal rumore !!

The apartment is clean and nicely quirky but during winter the temperature varies quite a lot

When we arrived in Rome, the property owner tells us an hour before check in an invented story about the place we originally booked. She claims that the previous guests broke the toilet and flooded that apartment, and that a technician said it would take a week to fix it. She couldn't back that story up with any photos, but she told us she couldn't rent it to us because it will be undergoing a week of maintenance. Instead, she moved us a very old, run down apartment in a noisier district of Rome which has no air conditioning. This is obviously an apartment that goes for much less than we paid, but she refused to change the price, having the audacity to say she wouldn't charge us extra. We specifically wanted a place with air conditioning, and I wasn't able to sleep without it in the hot Rome heat. My girlfriend was woken up by all the noise from the street, which is why we chose the original property in a quieter neighborhood. I really do feel disappointed with this scam experience, but I wanted to let you know about this first. I've tried reasoning with the landlord, and as we stood in the scorching hot apartment, she tried to convince us that it isn't hot at all, although there's obviously no thermostats in this place to measure that. It's clear she had these excuses planned out from the beginning. We couldn't really refuse the apartment as there were very few options at this point in our price range, which is why she told us just before check in. We don't speak Italian, so it would be hard for us to research and switch apartments without spending all of our time in Rome on this. Attached are some photos demonstrating how cramped and run down this place is. Also there were surveillance cameras in the place we weren't entirely comfortable with.
