Una Aloe vera aveva chiaramente preso molto freddo, una mezza congelata, io l'ho presa lo stesso perché mi faceva tenerezza, sapendo bene che - molto probabilmente - nel giro di poco anche l'altra metà delle foglie avrebbe dimostrato segni dello stesso patimento e così è stato. Adesso ha tre, quattro spunti di foglie nuove che sembrano stare bene. A un'altra piantina piccola e fiorita, già portata sul banco della cassa, la signora che mi serviva ha incautamente spezzato sotto i miei occhi uno dei tre rametti fioriti senza dire nulla, senza scusarsi né venirmi incontro in alcun modo.
