★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trattoria vecchio stampo negli interni, ma il cibo è buono ad un prezzo nella media. Due antipasti, due primi, un dolce, 1/2l di vino ed acqua, un dolce ed un caffè 53€. Il titolare è molto cordiale. Da ritornare.
 Old-fashioned restaurant in the interior, but the food is good at an average price. Two appetizers, two first courses, a dessert, 1 / 2l of wine and water, a dessert and a coffee 53 €. The owner is very friendly. To return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trattoria semplice quasi nascosta nelle stradine di Santa Croce, vale la pena cercarla e fermarsi. Personale gentilissimo e attento al cliente. Piatti semplici , di prodotti freschi e ottimi come si addice alle pietanze a base di pesce. Una scoperta il carrello dei dolci, soprattutto quello a base di crema con ananas. Dopo aver pranzato è bello passeggiare x Le viuzze del paese fino alla terrazza sul golfo di Trieste, uno spettacolo che chiude questa magnifica domenica.
Simple trattoria almost hidden in the narrow streets of Santa Croce, it is worth looking for and stopping. Staff very kind and attentive to the customer. Simple dishes, fresh and excellent products as befits fish dishes. A discovery is the dessert trolley, especially the one based on pineapple cream. After having lunch it is nice to walk through the narrow streets of the town to the terrace overlooking the Gulf of Trieste, a show that closes this magnificent Sunday.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Santa Croce è un antico borgo di pescatori molto caratteristico, tranquillo, ubicato in alto, sopra la costa, poco fuori Trieste. La Trattoria La Lampara, che è anche locanda, si trova proprio nel centro del borgo e dispone di un piccolo parcheggio privato. Propone una cucina di alta qualità ma non pretenziosa, con prodotti locali sempre freschi e soprattutto pesce del golfo di giornata. I piatti, molto gustosi, sono preparati al momento e le porzioni sono generose. Il servizio è attento e discreto. Il prezzo non è economico ma assolutamente all'altezza della proposta. Gli amanti della buona cucina e del pesce non debbono farsi mancare questa esperienza.
Santa Croce is an ancient fishing village very characteristic, quiet, located high above the coast, just outside Trieste. Trattoria La Lampara, which is also an inn, is located right in the center of the village and has a small private parking. It offers a high quality but not pretentious cuisine, with always fresh local products and above all fish of the day. The dishes, very tasty, are freshly prepared and the portions are generous. The service is attentive and discreet. The price is not cheap but absolutely up to the proposal. Lovers of good food and fish should not miss this experience.

Pesce locale sempre fresco e cucinato con grande rispetto delle materie prime.
Cortesia d'altri tempi.
Un locale autentico, da preservare.
Subito dietro la chiesa del borgo partono bei sentieri nel bosco. Il numero 1 porta in pochi minuti al punto panoramico Vedetta Scipio Slataper con magnifico panorama sul golfo.
Ci torniamo sempre con piacere quando siamo nei dintorni di Trieste.

Beautiful paths in the woods start immediately behind the village church. Number 1 leads in a few minutes to the Vedetta Scipio Slataper viewpoint with a magnificent view of the gulf.
We always come back with pleasure when we are near Trieste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il locale è un po vecchiotto ma il personale molto gentile e disponibile. Ci rechiamo qui per un pranzo di famiglia. Ordiniamo degli antipasti misti dove le pietanze gratinate sembravano riscaldate... un po troppo! Poi prendiamo dei primi che si sono rivelati buoni e saporiti e qualcuno come secondo un fritto di pesce. Per concludere ordiniamo delle creme (buonissime) e dello strudel. Nel complesso un buon pranzo di pesce senza troppe pretese per 25€ a testa.
The restaurant is a bit old but the staff are very nice and helpful. We go here for a family lunch. We order mixed appetizers where the au gratin dishes seemed heated ... a little too much! Then we take the first courses that have proved to be good and tasty and someone like a second course with a fried fish. Finally, we order creams (very good) and strudel. All in all a good unpretentious fish lunch for € 25 a head.
