Truly awesome Sicilian sea food! If you happen to come to Aci Trezza this is a place you want to spend your money.

This was a very disappointing experience. Food was OK, not great. Too much acido In several of the dishes, masking would seem to be very fresh seafood. Attentiveness by the wait staff was variable and strange; For example, the proprietor spent ten minutes boasting about his familiarity with People from all over the world, meanwhile none of the waitstaff waited on us. I’m not sure how he was able to overlook this, but he did not seem the least bit aware. Our appetizers came out quickly, but our primo and segundo took 30-40 minutes. I’ve never had to wait that long in an Italian restaurant to be served my meal, Even when the restaurant has been completely full. In March, with few tables occupied, one might think things would move a bit quicker. The dishes were OK, but the true essence of the flavor seem to drowned out by heavy handed applications of lemon and vinegar. The lemon sorbet was light, but almost flavorless and the lemoncello was some of the worst I’ve ever had. Same for the red table wine. It felt cheap. Paying the bill was not only an unpleasant surprise but also a strange experience. For two of us it was €70 or two small appetizers, a primo, a segundo, 3 glasses of house wine and a sorbet! Going to pay felt like walking in the back room of a gambling hall; you have to walk out of the main part of the restaurant, through part of the kitchen, past another dining room and into an office where it is just you and the owner, with the old chef nearby, glaring at us as if we had committed a crime. the owner seemed expectant that we would leave a tip! I probably should’ve looked more carefully at the bill to see what the heck we were being charged for, but at that point I just wanted to get out. We live in Italy, and I have long ago gotten over the paranoia that all Italians hate Americans. But here.… I wasn’t so sure. But I did go back a couple years and saw a one-star rating from an Italian, so perhaps it isn’t just us... I would give the food a 3, but with the high price tag and strange atmosphere, I must drop it down to a 2. I think the owners need to go out and dine and a modern Trattoria nearby and see what the experience is like, and make adjustments to their set up to better compete. But, when you do business in a tourist town, aperhaps you can survive doing it however you want.

Food was good although personally I could have landed with a better choice. Grilled calmari for main or either of fried appetizers is not a best choice. Grilled fish was better. Mixed seafood appetizer that's served for 2 people (don't remember the name) was great. The owner is very jovial and friendly.

The food was good but we felt ripped off by the owner. He promised us some fish with pasta (which was good) but which wasn’t worth 250€. He played mr simpatico (little bit pushy) but the moment we asked the bill, he was nowhere around, i really feel sorry for him. Until now we had a good experience with sicilian tourism, it’s a pity he spoiled this experience...there are a lot of good restaurants in Acitrezza, please choos another one.
