 Delicious place with well-finished dishes prepared with high quality raw materials. Very nice is also the shop where it is possible to buy highly selected typical products. Absolutely recommended.

Nella sua bellissima collocazione nella casa nobiliare dei conti di Seyssel, nella piazza del comune della porta del Roero, come si definisce il comune di Sommariva del Bosco, è un posto del cuore. Vieni accolto, nell elegante sala al primo piano della storica piazza, con possibilità nella bella stagione di pranzare all aperto nel dehor annesso, dal figlio con simpatia, calore e professionalità. Appena seduti nell accogliente sala, arriva immediatamente pane, focaccia e grissini fatti in casa buonissimi. Si sceglie in un menù molto completo e vario, con le specialità piemontesi e con interessanti divagazioni nella cucina italiana e non solo. La carta dei vini è fantastica completa e con moltissime perle del territorio e non solo. Oggi abbiamo scelto carciofi con fonduta di fontina di alpeggio, da favola e ravioles delle valli cuneesi con patate di Entraque. Un fantastico Roero di Alberto Oggero un produttore emergente di Santo Stefano Roero e un dolce della tradizione ( bunet e torta di nocciole) per terminare un pranzo da sogno con sapori che ci faranno sognare...fino ad una nuova tappa a questa magica trattoria. Prezzi correttissimi e bellissimo ambiente. Da non perdere..naturalmente previa prenotazione.
The trattoria del Viaggiatore is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the Braidese area. In its beautiful location in the noble house of the counts of Seyssel, in the town square of the Porta del Roero, as the town of Sommariva del Bosco is defined, it is a place of the heart. You are welcomed, in the elegant room on the first floor of the historic square, with the possibility in the summer to have lunch outdoors in the adjoining outdoor area, by your son with sympathy, warmth and professionalism. As soon as you sit in the cozy room, you will immediately receive delicious homemade bread, focaccia and breadsticks. You choose from a very complete and varied menu, with Piedmontese specialties and with interesting digressions in Italian cuisine and beyond. The wine list is fantastic and complete with many pearls of the area and beyond. Today we have chosen artichokes with alpeggio fontina fondue, fabulous ravioles from the Cuneo valleys with potatoes from Entraque. A fantastic Roero by Alberto Oggero an emerging producer from Santo Stefano Roero and a traditional dessert (bunet and hazelnut cake) to end a dream lunch with flavors that will make us dream ... until a new stop at this magical trattoria. Very correct prices and beautiful environment. Not to be missed .. of course by reservation.

Un menù che spazia dalla tradizione piemontese alle proposte di mare (provate le Acciughe, creano dipendenza!!) , con piatti curati, ottimi e mai banali. Una carta dei vini di tutto rispetto. L’ambiente è curato e semplice, la gestione ed il servizio gentili ed accoglienti!
Secondo noi una delle migliori proposte di tutto il Roero! Complimenti, continuate cosi!
We always come back with great pleasure, and it never disappoints!
A menu that ranges from Piedmontese tradition to seafood (try the Anchovies, they are addictive !!), with well-finished, excellent and never banal dishes. A very respectable wine list. The environment is refined and simple, the management and service are kind and welcoming!
In our opinion one of the best proposals of all the Roero! Congratulations, keep it up!
