The salsiccia was keeping the meal afloat but layer of glutamato on the plate after finishing did not help to complete satisfying experience. For secondi gnummareddhi d’agnello aka the lamb intestine wrapped in a slice of muscle. For fans of liver, this is a must. A little bit spicy. Dolce was sweet and average, service was amazing and would come again for the house wine.

The friendly and English speaking owner greeted us immediately upon entering the cute restaurant with nice views into the countryside with delightful food smells emanating from the kitchen.. To start, we dived into the spicy tomato taralli followed by a nice little fried amuse buche from the kitchen. My husband and i both enjoyed the fresh seafood and wonderful shrimp homemade ravioli. Nothing earth shattering, but good. We followed it up by the best lightly grilled and amazingly fresh tuna we've had so far in Puglia. Take my advice and swap the normal pepper, eggplant, etc. side from fresh chicory if it's in season. A decent negroamaro/malvasia red wine washed down the tasty lunch. The house fennel amaro was too sweet for us, but would happily satisfy most diners sweet tooth. We'd return in a heartbeat.

It is located in the middle of the beautiful town Specchia, that is definitely worth visiting before or after your meal. I had the chance of eating here several times and I was never disappointed. The service is excellent, directed by a very professional and attentive owner. Last time we had dinner on the terrace, under the light of a beautiful moon. The Antipasto di Terra is definitely worth trying, followed by one of the many typical first courses. They also cook delicious Gnummareddi and fantastic Pezzetti di Cavallo. I suggest to have your meal accompanied by one of the many wines from Salento.
