★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abbiamo scelto questo locale per il panorama di cui si gode dalla terrazza sulla Val Rosandra. Ci siamo stati per cena, ordinando gnocchi al sugo d'arrosto, gnocchi ripieni di mirtilli, assaggini di primi, cinghiale, boscaiola, paste creme: tutto molto buono. Non viene portato il menu al tavolo, bensì una signora elenca i piatti disponibili a voce: questo risulta un po' scomodo, volendo farsi un'idea del prezzo prima dell'ordinazione. In ogni caso, ottima posizione, bene anche il rapporto qualità-prezzo. Servizio un po' lento: arrivati i primi, abbiamo dovuto sollecitare più volte il cameriere per il pane e il vino. L'unico vero problema è il tipo di clientela che frequenta la trattoria: un signore seduto due tavoli più in là, palesemente alticcio, è venuto a disturbarci con fare minaccioso.
 We chose this place for the view from the terrace over Val Rosandra. We were there for dinner, ordering gnocchi with roast sauce, gnocchi stuffed with blueberries, tastings of first courses, wild boar, woodcutter, cream pastries: all very good. The menu is not brought to the table, but a lady lists the dishes available verbally: this is a bit inconvenient, wanting to get an idea of the price before ordering. In any case, excellent location, good value for money. A little slow service: the first ones arrived, we had to ask the waiter several times for bread and wine. The only real problem is the type of clientele who frequent the restaurant: a man sitting two tables away, clearly tipsy, came to disturb us in a threatening manner.

A conduzione famigliare ed è rimasto tutto ai tempi degli anni 80, l arredamento, il bancone con tutte le bomboniere dei vari eventi festeggiati lì, la mise en place, il tutto molto caratteristico. La signora è deliziosa. Il menù lo dicono a voce e questo a me non piace molto perché non hai modo di vedere i prezzi. Comunque è tutto buono. Abbiamo preso gli gnocchi ripieni con le noci, buonissimi. Il tris di paste anch esse buone. Poi il cinghiale con polenta che non lo servono a tocchetti tipo spezzatino come in tutti gli altri posti ma a fette, come delle bistecche Buonissimo e tenerissimo. Poi un tris di verdure cotte. Il tutto ad €45 compreso il bere. All esterno c è una terrazza dove poter mangiare in estate al fresco.
A restaurant of yesteryear outside the center of Trieste. Family-run and everything has remained from the times of the 80s, the furniture, the counter with all the favors of the various events celebrated there, the mise en place, all very characteristic. The lady is delightful. They say the menu verbally and I don't like this very much because you have no way of seeing the prices. Anyway it's all good. We got the gnocchi stuffed with walnuts, very good. The trio of good pastas. Then the wild boar with polenta which is not served in chunks such as stew like in all other places but sliced, like steaks. Very good and very tender. Then a trio of cooked vegetables. All for € 45 including drink. Outside there is a terrace where you can eat al fresco in the summer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a nice and quite place to have lunch. Found the place while trying to walk around Val Rosandra Natural Reserve. I recommend this place because the food is good and the owners are really kind and provided a good service despite the fact that neither of both speak English and I don't speak Italian. My friends and I managed to somehow order and it turned out to be a really nice lunch and we only spend 8 euros per person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The lady who serves the table extremely nice to the table next to us but with us just like not in the mood. I hope it's not because we're foreigner. But the bartender was nice.
The gnocchi with cherries wasn't good, a bit strange. That's my opinion only.
