A metà percorso si trovano anche due musei e la terrazza panoramica punto più alto delle mura con vista frontale al duomo di Cittadella From Porta Bassano you can access the walk on the walls. Da questa si può partire con il percorso lungo la cinta muraria, per una buona parte originaria e si può fare il giro di tutta la circonferenza sopra il muro. A circa metà del percorso ( porta padova) si trova un piccolo museo e un terrazzo con vista. La cittadina è molto ben tenuta e ordinata. Da visitare. Spettacolare e imponente la cinta difensiva con più porte di accesso da attraversare prima di accedere all'abitato. Huge tower that overlooks the access to Cittadella that leads to the city of Bassano. From here starts the famous walkway of the guards. Spectacular and impressive is the defensive wall with several access doors to cross before entering the town.

Costituiva l’estrema difesa della comunità ed era quindi isolato anche all’interno da un fossato ingegnosamente collegato con le fosse esterne; presentava inoltre un sistema di ben 5 porte, tre verso l’esterno, due verso l’interno, caratterizzate da ponti levatoi e saracinesche. Più grande delle altre porte, il complesso comprendeva la Casa del Capitano, locali per le guarnigioni e magazzini, pozzo, forno e altri servizi. L’alto torrione, il mastio, con i suoi 30 metri d’altezza offre ancora oggi una meravigliosa vista sui dintorni. Verso la parte interna della città, la parete del torrione conserva un affresco che raffigura il carro dei Carraresi e lo stemma di Padova. All’interno della rocca si trova la Casa del Capitano, oggetto di importanti lavori di restauro che hanno permesso il ritrovamento di affreschi risalenti al periodo dei Carraresi, dei Malatesta, dei Sanseverino e dei Borromeo. Visitabile è la sala affrescata, in cui sono state ricreate ambientazioni di vita quotidiana dell’epoca. Oggi è sede dell’ufficio turistico IAT e funge da ingresso al camminamento di ronda. The frescoed room can be visited, in which settings of everyday life of the time have been recreated. Today it houses the IAT tourist office and serves as an entrance to the patrol walkway.

On the first floor the building boasts 13th & 16th century frescoes of the coats of arms of the families who ruled the city. Most importantly for the visitor - this is the entrance where you get to walk around the town walls from the top!
