★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La torre pisana di San Giovanni si trova sulla strada che da Sant'Ilario conduce al Monte Perone, adiacente all'omonima pieve, a 30 mt. d'altezza in zona panoramica. La sua costruzione risale probabilmente all'XI secolo come presidio di difesa e avvistamento dalle incursioni dei pirati saraceni. La torre eretta su un masso di granito ha subito uno stato di abbandono fino al 1965, anno in cui risale il primo intervento di restauro. Oggi si presenta restaurata esternamente mentre l'interno di difficile accesso è anche pericoloso.
The Pisan tower of San Giovanni is located on the road that leads from Sant'Ilario to Monte Perone, adjacent to the homonymous parish church, at 30 meters. high in a panoramic area. Its construction probably dates back to the 11th century as a garrison for defense and sighting from raids by Saracen pirates. The tower erected on a granite boulder suffered a state of neglect until 1965, the year in which the first restoration was carried out. Today it is restored externally while the interior which is difficult to access is also dangerous.
