Best Wellness hotel in Italia

H	Henry Makansi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I attended a weekend birthday party at this hotel and spent three days at this hotel during the off season of October. Having been to many four seasons resorts and other 5 star hotels I’m not that readily impressed. Tombolo is well situated near a 30km stretch of beach and pine forest. It’s in the heart of Bolgheri, the wine region that produces the super Tuscans like Sassikaia, Ornelaia and Masetto. The hotel has clean beautiful rooms most with balconies. The service is homely and extremely attentive, the food, well it’s Italy but even In that context the food is superb. The tomobolo has a large spa with excellent facilities. One can start the day having a lovely breakfast that includes buffalo mozzarella and an espresso on the terrace overseeing the ocean, followed by biking or walking in the forest or along the beach, before hitting the spa for a massage or swim. Hard to beat!
e	e mi tone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take room 266 only if you are tiny and thin. The bedroom is comparatively small, the shower box is ridiculously tiny. You can hardly enjoy the shower with its limited space. Meanwhile the service received from the waiters is way better than the captain at the restaurant. At least the waiters show out smiles. Apart from these, the hotel is good. The private beach is only couple of walks from the hotel, the service at the talasso is good, the fiorentina steak at the restaurant is average, the room is clean, the housekeeping service is good, the hotel is very close to the town centre, the parking is however a bit insufficient.

Nice sandy beach though some stinging seaweeds in the water like nettle (may be quite a problem for kids while not a big issue for adults). Very nice wellness and spa area with a good variety of treatments provided. Small kids club - nothing too exiting, just to leave kids for a couple of hours if necessary.
P	Pascal Ah-kine on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service and impressive set of spa pools and spa service. Breakfast and dinner were great. The hotel was quiet early April and our room was great. We had no problems with mosquitoes as the windows had mosquito nets.
P	Piers on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The resort itself has nice rooms and facilities are good with beach access included and towels there and the pool. I was thoroughly underwhelmed with the quality of the restaurant on site - in particular the staff there managed the impressive feat of being consistently both inattentive and rude - every meal required waiting to be seated and then waiting an age before being served which was done in a curt and dour manner - on our last night eating there we abandoned any plans to have desert as we had to wait 35 minutes to be seen. The portion sizes are small and the food quality is at best average and was inedible several times (chewy tough beer “fillet” at €23 a plate). Even though the restaurant didn’t seem busy the staff seemed to do anything but serve customers and when they did this was reluctantly this experience was replicated both at breakfast with long waits to get a table. If you must stay here I would certainly recommend dining elsewhere which we did after the first three nights of being ignored and service with poor attitude and mediocre fare that seems to start with the Maitre d’hotel who is the personification of service with a sneer - sadly there is no option to do this at breakfast which means a stressful start to what should be a relaxing day enjoying the great pool,beach or caves. This was a shame as the rest of the hotel staff in the bars,reception and spa and beach area were courteous and polite and the facilities themselves were as expected for a five star.
B	Barbara Linehan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some aspects of this hotel are great, including the beach service. However certain rooms are anything but 5 star and given the price, for that reason, after a couple of stays, I don't think we'll go back.
W	Wendy P on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So far underwhelmed. We have just checked in and the receptionist was not only rude. But smiled as she advised us that we could not havena table in the restaurant this evening despite being quests at the hotel. As it was fully booked. I have never ever stayed anywhere where hotel quests are not guaranteed a table. So now we are going have to spend the next hour or so walking up and down trying to find somewhere to eat later. I can only hope the facilities make up for the staff! But I cant say I am blown away by the room either
E	Elena Babicheva on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Checked in today. After dinner at 10 p.m. came back to the room and switched on the air-conditioner. It is 1 a.m. and it is still 27C in the room. Numerous calls to the reception led to the visit by some absolutely incompetent person, who said "It takes time, madam, to cool down the room" and "the air-conditioner is working properly". My request to get in touch with the manager led to nothing. So a sleepless night after 8 hours on the road is guaranteed.
