Terzo Crotto

Very friendly staff, reasonable rooms, and a gourmet restaurant- housed in a 100+ year old farmhouse.

Next to Terzo Crotto, there is "Residence Cernobbio". My evaluation is BAD! We paid 3 weeks but used only 2: awful bed, dirty rooms, unpleasent owners, expensive and unsecure. Shame to find such a bad accomdation in the nice COMO lake (full of nice hotels). PS: i did not try the restaurant /Hotel terzo Crotto

Florentine steak was the BEST ! Fresh caught seabass was outstanding. Excellent meals and fairly priced.

Excellent food, great atmosphere. Good restaurant. The rooms are simple but clean.

Gorgeous old hotel with tons of character. Rooms were scrupulously clean. Breakfast was simple and tasty. I will return.

The hotel is a piece of history and has a nice garden but everything inside is old. The breakfast is not very good. I had the occasion to visit a colleague staying at hotel centrale, it was far better.

We stayed for three nights at the Hotel Terzo Crotto in Cernobbio and loved it. The building is spectacular from the outside, particularly the restaurant patio and facade. Breakfast was included and we spent each morning on the patio, waking up with the sun. Because of this, we didn't try the restaurant for dinner, though it was close enough to downtown Cernobbio as well as a relatively short drive to Como (15 min) and Tremezzo (40 min) to fully explore the dinning choices of the area. Breakfast was very nice with fresh made juices and fantastic, huge cups of fresh brewed espresso. There was also a selection of meat and cheese slices and rolls, eggs, and croissants to load up on energy for the day. We really began to feel like locals, sitting and relaxing on the terrace, sipping our second cups of cappuccino each morning. The rooms themselves were the only let down. They were in no way bad, just didn't quite live up to the expectation set by the exterior of the building and the restaurant. I would say only that they were spartan. The bed was comfy, water pressure was great, and most importantly, the AC actually cooled down the room. With that, I really can't complain. Service was excellent and though we continually badgered them about our luggage the airline lost arriving, they also answered with a smile and even helped us place a call in Italian to the airline. Parking was also very convenient though difficult to figure out the first time. As mentioned, the location was very convenient as it is a short walk to many restaurants as well as the lakeside pier. It's also pretty centrally located on the lake between Como and Tremezzo and made a great base of operations for our stay in the region.

Lovely place to stay for a weekend getaway! Rooms are small but nice and clean. The bathrooms are huge. Staff is very friendly! Didn't try the restaurant for dinner (yet). Will definitely stay there again.
