They totally used the situation of need I was in...this has nothing to do with the helpful "Kite-Culture" that I know from other parts of the world. Because the wind suddenly stopped my boyfriend wasn't able to get back over to this side of the lake. Upon asking if they could help me rescue him with their boat they said yes and it will cost 25€. I agreed to this, got my vest and waited for them to untie the boat. As we were getting onto the boat, suddenly the guy said it will cost 45€! This price is absolutely ridiculous seeing that my boyfriend was only about 300m away on the other side of the channel. I then declined and was really speechless how this kite school can use someone's situation of need like this.

I'm kite surfer since more than 3 years. I went to Tabo because I just wanted to rent equipment. I talked to the staff but they have been not allowed to give equipment without to talk to the instructor directly. The school has only one instructor which was always involved in training, so I needed to wait for him for about 1 hour. After he was free for a second he just asked me what I would like to have, without considering the weather condition, my skill level, weight or my kite surfing license. So what was the point to talk to him? Since I never have been kite surfing before on lake Como I did not know that the school is a bit outside the main wind, hence I ended up on the lake with too big board, with a too big kite, which wasn’t very funny. When I returned to station I asked to change the material but they just told me I need to talk to the instructor again which was gone with his students … So for me it was just a waste of time and money … poor experience over all. By the way, the equipment was from RPM. Never had some experience with this brand but in my opinion the flight capabilities are bad but maybe this was also because it was way too big for me under these weather conditions.

I had an excellent experience at Tabo renting one of the surf center's electric foil boards and taking an e-foil lesson. Before we started, the instructor (Luca) gave good, detailed descriptions of how to operate the remote power controller, which settings to use, how to get started, how to stand on the board, and how to get up on foil. The safety gear - helmet and flotation vest - were comfortable and they fit well. Before we got into the water, Luca offered a good orientation of the lake, including safe places to ride and shallow areas to avoid. On the water, Luca stayed close at all times on a separate e-foil which allowed me to not only hear his instructions, but it also gave me a chance to watch him ride to better understand how it was supposed to be done. After falling once, I was able to get up on foil consistently and ride around the lake for the remainder of the 30 minute rental period. I am a capable kitesurfer, but I do not think I would have figured out the e-foil without Luca's excellent step-by-step instructions. He has given a lot of thought to the format and content of the information in the lesson, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE!

All in all a great experience! We visited Lago di Como in August for the first time, looked at multiple spots and windsurf/kitesurf schools on the northern half of the lake and this one left the best first impression with us. My son and I decided not only to rent windsurf equipment, but to learn kitesurfing and booked the „full immersion course“. With Eduardo (chief kite instructor) and Luca (the boss of Tabo) we had 2 very competent and good English speaking instructors: We went from zero to good kiting capabilities in five days. With Paula and Polly (the 2nd Paula) we were always being well served with the administrative issues. You can also rent bikes (which we didn’t since we brought our own, but they looked quite new and well maintained) To summarize: Equipment modern and in good shape, personnel friendly and competent, location excellent (change rooms, showers, toilets,...), good spot concerning wind conditions, prices not cheap but comparable to the other schools/rentals in the area. We will definitely come back and visit again.

In my opinion it’s the best windsurf & sailing school and rental on lake Como. You’ll find competent and friendly staff as well as high quality equipment: all new RRD surfboards, sailboats, SUPs... and they also added a thrilling electric flite board to the range! It all adds up to a wonderful experience.

Terrible kite surf experience. Our teacher had no passion and was treating us like dogs. It was very clear that he was only doing it for the money. It is cheaper than other schools, no wonder why. STAY AWAY
