★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I were American tourists honeymooning in Europe and decided to spend an afternoon at the Ostia beach. We were a bit nervous about going to a public beach because there is a lot of “microcriminalism” (like theft) in Roma so we opted to go to a private beach in hopes that it had lockers. Pilnius was the first we got to so we went in. There were no lockers (as far as we could tell) but we got access to showers, toilets, and changing rooms for 3 € each. At the beach we rented an umbrella for 10 € and two lounge chairs for 7 € each and were right by the water. The beach was really nice with soft sand and only small, smooth rocks. Definitely worth the euros we paid for it. Warning to American tourists, the staff doesn’t speak much English compared to people in the city, but we were able to get by only knowing a few phrases in Italian. Only reason we are giving 4 stars was because we really hoped for lockers. As it was, the beach was full of families so we felt safe leaving our bags tied to our umbrella while we swam.

Water is very clean and there is so much people, but you must be careful about the sun because it is very sharp so i think you need to by a proactive cream......
I hope you enjoy and got fun.....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge beach resort divided into two sections. There are a bar, hot and cold showers and cabins. It was possible to stay near the shore for the entire afternoon by paying for the beach bed. Unfortunately in Ostia there are almost no free beaches. The entire shoreline is taken by the beach resorts. It is not possible to simply look at the sea when walking along the waterfront.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a full day at the plininus beach. The atmosphere was nice, staff were friendly, you have to pay obviously more to access the swimming pool but it's definitely worth it. Also you can have a variety of drinks and food in the restaurant. Decent quality. Locker rooms and bathrooms are free of charge, for the showers you just have to pay 1euro. We highly recommend Plinius.
