Very pleasant and well-kept location at the mouth of the Mera River in the Lario. There are various very tidy Camping sites with pleasant caravans and mini-houses. Large grassy areas and paved riverside, tree-lined and equipped with benches, children's games and descents into the water. The promenade joins with Gera Lario which has a large dock with piers. A place suitable for relaxing walks and also comfortable for wheelchairs of children and the disabled given the presence of suitable ramps. Although dirty in various places, but not everywhere, by various plant debris and rare waste, due to the recent torrential rains of exceptional magnitude that fell between the end of July and the beginning of August 2021, two days after the last meteorological event, I visited this location. Sorico in the upper branch of Gerosa of Lake Como; it was a real surprise and I do not deny that I was fascinated by it. It is a wonderful place, elegant and harmoniously inserted and maintained in a womb of fantastic nature from a landscape and naturalistic point of view. Here various accommodation facilities including camping and b & b support a niche tourism but numerous and the presence of foreigners, mainly Dutch and Northern Europeans, play a prevalent role in the local economy. But let's move on to its walls and streets, embankments and streams, all speaking that reveal in history the vocation of the people to the lake economy which was exploited for fishing, agriculture, the production of kinetic energy with structures that reveal the presence of more mills, then lost. Bridges, small waterfalls, embankments, paths and lanes that promote walks and soorts. The place is also characterized by its proximity to a gorge and this certainly favors the movement of air and wind which also justifies the presence of a sailing club and other current sports of sailing / board fashion on the shores of the lake. But the most beautiful thing is the atmosphere that the light of day, the sun, the mountain, the trees and all the reliefs, together seem to compose a maternal embrace in which the patrons, according to my impression, feel cradled and protected.
