★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La meta è il lago Maggiore e precisamente Verbania in Piazza Castello 27, dove ha sede lo showroom di Nino Ventura.
Ci si arriva facilmente in questa piazzetta e immediatamente diventa imperativo il bisogno di entrare nel piccolo locale dove ci attendono le ceramiche sontuose di Nino.
Sontuose perché tali sono le forme, le dimensioni, le sfumature di colore, le morbidezze dell’argilla lavorata da mani esperte.
Ma c’è di più: lo spirito che pervade tutto l’ambiente è potente, parla all’anima ed esalta le opere, ci fa innamorare di un volto enigmatico o di una forma armoniosa o ancora di un particolare scoperto per caso.
Poi si potrà passeggiare sul lungo lago e goderne la bellezza ma sarà difficile non portare con noi altre immagini: le creature fantastiche di un artista dal grande talento.

The destination is Lake Maggiore and precisely Verbania in Piazza Castello 27, where the Nino Ventura showroom is located.
One arrives easily in this little square and immediately becomes imperative the need to enter the small room where we await the sumptuous ceramics of Nino.
Sumptuous because these are the shapes, the dimensions, the shades of color, the softness of the clay worked by expert hands.
But there is more: the spirit that pervades the whole environment is powerful, speaks to the soul and exalts the works, makes us fall in love with an enigmatic face or a harmonious shape or even a particular discovered by chance.
Then you can walk along the lake and enjoy the beauty but it will be difficult not to bring with us other images: the fantastic creatures of a very talented artist.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'opera, che vedo più spesso di Nino, è l'Angelo nella via pedonale, a Chivasso, ma la prima volta, nella quale ho avuto l'occasione di apprezzare molte delle sue splendide opere, è stata nell'esposizione nella Villa di San Sebastiano Po tanti anni or sono. Le sue opere sono originali e trasmettono bellissime emozioni inaspettate. Grazie, Nino.
The work, which I see more often than Nino, is the Angel in the pedestrian street, in Chivasso, but the first time, in which I had the opportunity to appreciate many of his splendid works, was in the exhibition in the Villa of San Sebastiano Po many years ago. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Conosco Nino Ventura da 25 anni e con lui condivisi, come musicista, tre personali dedicate ai suoi pesci di terracotta. Ironia giocosa e terrena arcaica materialità, qualcosa che arrivava da lontano, emanava da quelle forme cotte, rigide e lo stesso sguscianti e ammiccanti. Sapiente semplicità del mezzo e gusto per la ricercata decorazione, capriccio barocco e sacro primitivo canto plasmati insieme. Come un florilegio lento e forte a crescere, lo spirito di Nino non é cambiato e la materia si presenta sempre più docile alle sue mani e alla sua invenzione.
I've known Nino Ventura for 25 years and with him I shared, as a musician, three solo shows dedicated to his terracotta fish. Irony playful and earthly archaic materiality, something that came from afar, emanated from those cooked forms, rigid and so slippery and winking. Skilful simplicity of the medium and taste for the refined decoration, baroque caprice and sacred primitive singing molded together. Like a slow and strong florilegium to grow, Nino's spirit has not changed and the material is ever more docile to his hands and his invention.
