Una parte del sentiero è in ombra, ottimo per le calde giornate d'estate Pleasant for a walk there are some ups and downs. Feasible also in MTB if you are trained. M	MARINO FURLANI on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si tratta di un sentiero che si snoda tra le colline del Collio italiano attraverso le vigne delle più note aziende vinicole locali . Partendo dal parcheggio sotto il Castello di Spessa si raggiunge Russiz inferiore, successivamente si sale alle spalle di Russiz Superiore con il panoramica sulle vigne e sulla valle dell'Isonzo e il ciglione carsico sede delle prime battaglie della prima guerra mondiale. Proseguendo in mezzo ad un bosco si oltrepassa la collina e si raggiunge la località la Subida con due ristoranti, di cui uno stellato e di un maneggio di cavalli. Il sentiero non presenta difficoltà salvo nella discesa finale in notevole pendenza ma gestibile con tempo asciutto. È sterrato, ma percorribile in bici. Per il ritorno, volendo, una strada del tutto in piano riconduce alla partenza passando per la sede produttiva e di vendita di Russiz Superiore. Tempo di percorrenza 1.30 ca. a passo tranquillo. It is a path that winds through the hills of the Italian Collio through the vineyards of the most famous local wineries. Starting from the parking lot under the Spessa Castle, you reach Russiz Inferiore, then climb behind Russiz Superiore with a view of the vineyards and the Soča Valley and the karst edge, site of the first battles of the First World War. Continuing in the middle of a wood, you cross the hill and reach the Subida locality with two restaurants, one of which is starred and a riding stable. The path presents no difficulties except in the final descent with a considerable slope but manageable in dry weather. It is unpaved, but can be traveled by bike. For the return, if desired, a completely flat road leads back to the departure via the production and sales site in Russiz Superiore. Walking time 1.30 approx. at a leisurely pace.

Quasi in ogni suo parte ben delineato da cartelli, anche se in alcuni bivi non è chiarissimo quale sia la giusta direzione. Ci sono delle posizioni per delle foto splendide. Molto esposto al sole soprattutto se si parte dal Castello di Spessa. Nice relaxing walk, the road although wide is not very comfortable if you have strollers. Almost in all its parts well outlined by signs, even if in some crossroads it is not very clear which is the right direction. There are locations for great photos. Very exposed to the sun especially if you start from the Castello di Spessa.
N	Nicola Bottone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sentiero molto bello che si snoda tra le colline del Collio. Siamo partiti da dietro le scuderie della Subida. C'è un parcheggio molto comodo dove lasciare l'auto ed anche una toilette (pulita considerando la locazione). Abbiamo intrapreso il sentiero che è "partito" con una bella pendenza del 20%. Fattibile anche per me che sono un neofita in merito. A passo moderato percorrere il sentiero per arrivare al Castello di Spessa richiede circa 1,5h. Ci sono tratti mto Easy la percorrere e qualche piccola salita, a parte quella iniziale. All'inizio del sentiero non si vedono mte vigne, si deve arrivare sul secondo tratto per poter godere lo spettacolo delle vigne dall'alto e poi passarci nel mezzo. Spuntati al Castello di Spessa, cercavamo un luogo dove rifocillarci e devo dire che la Tavernetta del Castello è stato il nostro luogo di ristoro. Certo non un'osteria, come location, tipologia di cibo e prezzi. Abbiamo trovato il tutto ottimo, consigliato un passaggio. Al ritorno, abbiamo ripercorso il sentiero al contrario, abbiamo evitato il tratto più "lungo" che prevedeva il passaggio per Russiz. Avremmo allungato, da quanto ho capito, di almeno un paio di Km a tratta. Onestamente il sentiero fatto è stato più che soddisfacente per godersi l'esperienza. Al ritorno, con passo un po' più avuto, ormai avevano fatto già le varie foto ed ammirato i panorami, in circa 50min abbiamo recuperato l'auto. Stanchi ma soddisfatti! Very nice path that winds through the Collio hills. We started from behind the Subida stables. There is a very convenient car park where you can leave your car and also a toilet (clean considering the location). We took the path that "started" with a nice 20% gradient. Also feasible for me who am a neophyte on the matter. At a moderate pace, walking the path to get to Castello di Spessa takes about 1.5 hours. There are some easy stretches to follow and some small climbs, apart from the initial one. At the beginning of the path you do not see many vineyards, you have to arrive on the second stretch to be able to enjoy the spectacle of the vineyards from above and then pass through them. Having popped up at the Castello di Spessa, we were looking for a place to refresh ourselves and I must say that the Tavernetta del Castello was our place of refreshment. Certainly not a tavern, in terms of location, type of food and prices. We found everything excellent, recommended a ride. On the way back, we retraced the path in reverse, we avoided the "longest" stretch which involved the passage to Russiz. We would have lengthened, from what I understand, at least a couple of km each way. Honestly, the trail was more than satisfying to enjoy the experience. On the way back, with a little more pace, by now they had already taken the various photos and admired the views, in about 50min we recovered the car. Tired but satisfied!
