Dalla chiesa esce la Madonna e si fa la processione. La chiesa e addobbata a festa con luci. Lo spettacolo pirotecnico che di norma viene fatto il sabato e la domenica e molto suggestivo! Durante le feste la facciata è agghindata con molte luminarie che illuminano la strada e la rendono un faro nel paese... Fu elevato a Santuario l'8 Settembre 1824. L'aspetto dell'attuale è dato a lavori di ampliamento avvenuti nel XVIII secolo, di abbellimento nel XIX secolo e di ricostruzione dopo i danneggiamenti subiti durante il secondo conflitto mondiale. L’8 settembre 1824 avvenne la cerimonia di incoronazione della Madonna e del Bambino. La festa patronale L’8 settembre la città venera N.S. del Suffragio, Patrona di Recco, viene festeggiata il 7 e l’8 di settembre. Grandiose cerimonie si effettuano ogni venticinque anni dal giorno dell’Incoronazione. Towards the end of the sixteenth century the Oratory dedicated to the Nativity of Mary was built. Sono rappresentate inoltre scene storiche anch'esse simboliche come il Concilio di Nicea.... la Traslazione della Santa Casa di Loreto e l'Adorazione della rosa mistica.....Altri stucchi policromi raffigurano i dodici Misteri della vita della Vergine Maria....La statua collocata sopra l'altare è dedicata alla Madonna e ritenuta di provenienza bizantina.... La scultura...ritratta con in braccio il Bambino Gesù e un ramo dorato da cui sboccia una rosa nella mano sinistra... fu rivestita nel XVII secolo con panni preziosi. Un vista mozzafiato su Camogli e il porticciolo la rendono unica . Si può raggiungere dall' abitato di Camogli oppure scendendo per una " crosa " dalla statale che da Recco conduce alla Ruta di Camogli . Consiglio una visita , è un'emozione entrare in questo piccolo Santuario .. Superb, small church located on the heights of Camogli and annexed to the convent of the Olivetan Fathers. A breathtaking view of Camogli and the marina make it unique. It can be reached from the built-up area of Camogli or by going down a "crosa" from the state road that leads from Recco to the Ruta di Camogli. I recommend a visit, it is a thrill to enter this small sanctuary ..
