Dôme superbement peint. (très belle crèche vue en janvier). Extérieur reposant avec bancs sous les arbres. Grand parking. Sanctuary at the top of a climb along which there is an unusual way of the cross with representative statues probably made of terracotta. Superbly painted dome. (very nice nursery seen in January). Restful exterior with benches under the trees. Large parking lot.

A pochi passi dall'affollata piazza del mercato ortofrutticolo, si snodano lungo il pendio di una altura morenica, in un bosco di platani, le stazioni di una ottocentesca Via Crucis che salgono al santuario della Madonna della Stella, meglio noto agli eporediesi come santuario di Monte Stella. Il santuario venne edificato nel 1627 a testimonianza della speciale devozione che si esprime nei confronti della "Madonna Nera"' di Oropa. Di tale secentesca costruzione rimangono oggi solo il campanile e una parete adiacente alla attuale chiesa, su cui si vedono i resti di una lunetta affrescata. Proseguendo oltre il santuario di Monte Stella, in un posto suggestivamente panoramico, si giunge alla cappella dei Tre Re, meta di pellegrinaggio che si svolge nel giorno dell'Epifania e che vale ai fedeli una indulgenza plenaria. L'antico rito della processione e della offerta dei ceri alla cappella, è stato, in tempi recenti, incorporato nelle celebrazioni dello storico carnevale di Ivrea, che ogni anno ha il suo avvio proprio nella giornata dell'Epifania. La cappella, dalla architettura romanica é estremamente sobria. The Monte Stella di Ivrea sanctuary is one of the places of historical and artistic interest in the Piedmontese town. A few steps away from the crowded market square of the fruit and vegetable market, the stations of a nineteenth-century Via Crucis that climb up to the sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella, better known to the Eporedians as a sanctuary of Monte Stella. The sanctuary was built in 1627 to bear witness to the special devotion expressed towards the "Black Madonna" of Oropa. Today only the bell tower and a wall adjacent to the present church remain of this seventeenth-century building, on which the remains of a frescoed lunette can be seen. Continuing beyond the sanctuary of Monte Stella, in a suggestive panoramic place, we reach the Chapel of the Three Kings, a pilgrimage destination that takes place on the day of the Epiphany and a plenary indulgence for the faithful. The ancient rite of the procession and the offering of the candles to the chapel, has been, in recent times, incorporated in the celebrations of the historic carnival of Ivrea, which every year has its start precisely on the day of the Epiphany. The chapel, with its Romanesque architecture, is extremely sober.

Poco più su della chiesa si trova la cappella in cima alla collina: questa necessita di un pronto restauro e di messa in sicurezza contro i vandali che la stanno rovinando. La posizione e la vista di lì sono stupende su tutta ivrea. Place of reference and devotion to the Madonna for all Ivrea people. Absolutely to visit also to gather in prayer. A little further up the church is the chapel on top of the hill: this needs a prompt restoration and safety measures against the vandals who are ruining it. The position and the view from there are wonderful over the whole ivrea.

Le tappe del percorso segnato da cappelle con piccoli gruppi scultorei in terracotta e lastre marmoree scolpite. Sulla sommità della collinetta, alla fine del percorso lastricato, si trova una chiesetta, probabilmente costruita su preesistente tempio dedicato a Venere, circondata dalla vegetazione. Un tempo pare fosse possibile raggiungere direttamente il Lago di campagna con un sentiero attualmente non praticabile. Luogo di pace e meditazione. At one time it seems it was possible to reach the countryside lake directly with a path that is currently not practicable. Place of peace and meditation.
