N	Nino Duina on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il santuario della Madonna di Calvarola (o del Pianto) è così chiamato perchè si trova ai piedi della "calva", con poca vegetazione, collina di S.Stefano. La chiesetta esisteva già nei sec. XV-XVI; ampliata (o ricostruita) all'inizio del '700 in stile rococò con pianta praticamnete centrale, è stata decorata ad affresco in gran parte dal pittore Pietro Scalvini, che si firma in data 1737, e che è autore anche della pala dell'altare laterale sinistro, raffigurante S.Gaetano da Thiene con S.Fermo. Sull'altare laterale destro è presente una Deposizione del XVI sec. con aggiunte più tarde. Sull'altare principale vi è una immagine cinquecentesca della Madonna col Bambino in trono e S.Giovannino. The sanctuary of the Madonna di Calvarola (or of the Pianto) is so called because it is located at the foot of the "bald", with little vegetation, the hill of S. Stefano. The church existed already in the sec. XV-XVI; enlarged (or rebuilt) at the beginning of the eighteenth century in rococo style with central practical plant, it was decorated with frescoes by the great painter Pietro Scalvini, who was signed on 1737, and who is also the author of the side altarpiece left, representing S.Gaetano da Thiene with S.Fermo. On the right side altar there is a Deposition from the 16th century. with later additions. On the main altar there is a sixteenth-century image of the Madonna with the Child enthroned and St. John the Vener.
