Nelle vicinanze c'è un bellissimo punto di ristoro "La Rubia della Ienca" ,immerso nel verde, con cucina tipica Abruzzese e vendita di prodotti tipici locali; consigliato ! To visit, not so much for the church but for the beauty of the place. Storia tranquillità panorama mozzafiato ed aria pulita fanno da contorno a chi ha la fortuna di passare a visitare. Beautiful village that surrounds the Sanctuary dedicated to John Paul the second. Di fronte c'è un locale alternativo dove di mangiano prodotti tipici e onestamente è la cosa che mi è piaciuta di più. ? There is a statue of Pope Wojtyla in front of the sanctuary which is a simple stone construction with a very damaged fresco of the Christ inside. Opposite there is an alternative place where they eat typical products and honestly that's what I liked the most. ?

La Chiesa di San Pietro in località "la Jenca" è stata eretta in Santuario diocesano dedicato a San Giovanni Paolo II, nel maggio 2011 da S. E. R. Mons Giuseppe Molinari, Arcivescovo Metropolita dell'Aquila. Il motivo per cui la Chiesa è stato eretta a Santuario è costituito dalle numerose visite private di Papa Karol nella zona. Durante i giorni di riposo dai vari impegni legati al ministero petrino, San Giovanni Paolo II, amante della montagna, spesso ha passeggiato lungo i prati circostanti la Chiesa di San Pietro e si è raccolto in preghiera in quello che oggi è il Santuario a lui dedicato. Ma oggi ho scoperto la Rubia della Jenca delizioso posto gestito da Daniela e Matteo dove si può mangiare cucina tradizionale e prodotti tipici. Ho fatto diverse foto ma non rendono bene l idea del luogo. Co viene andare di persona e verificare con i propri occhi la bellezza e l unicità del posto. L aria genuina e la disponibilità dei ragazzi renderanno magica la giornata o la serata. Buona Jenca a tutti , e fate una preghiera per il buon Papa che spesso fuggiva da Roma senza scorta per assaporare la magia del luogo. It is not the first time that I go to the Shrine. Nell'area circostante vi è possibilità di effettuare pic-nic, inoltre vi sono bagni pubblici ben tenuti. Consiglio di raggiungere a qualche centinaia di metri il giardino della memoria per porre un omaggio ai caduti del terremoto dell'Aquila ricordati con una lapide in loro memoria.
