G	Gionata il Viandante on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interessante da vedere anche se l'ho scoperto per caso durante una visita sporadica a Corinaldo. Non è una chiesa grande ma carina da vedere. Interesting to see even if I discovered it by chance during a sporadic visit to Corinaldo. It is not a large but nice church to look at.
A	Antonio Vergallo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Santuario Diocesano di Santa Maria Goretti è situato nel centro storico di Corinaldo ed è stato canonicamente eretto nella settecentesca chiesa, già esistente ed intitolata a S.Agostino, il 1° ottobre 1987. A sinistra dell’ingresso sono presenti le spoglie mortali di Mamma Assunta deceduta a Corinaldo nel 1954; mentre a destra quelle di Alessandro Serenelli, il suo assassino che, nel tentativo di stuprarla la uccise barbaramente a soli 11 anni. Nell’altare centrale in marmo bianco di Carrara, vicino ad una scultura lignea di Santa Maria Goretti è posizionata un’urna in argento contenente l’osso del braccio della Santa, braccio con il quale la Martire tentò di difendersi dal suo aggressore. Entrando in questa chiesa e vedendo le spoglie della mamma della Santa e del suo assassino respiri aria di pace e di perdono. Quel perdono che, nonostante l'orribile delitto, fu concesso all'assassino da parte della Santa e da sua madre. The Diocesan Sanctuary of Santa Maria Goretti is located in the historic center of Corinaldo and was canonically erected in the eighteenth-century church, already existing and dedicated to St. Augustine, on 1 October 1987. To the left of the entrance are the mortal remains of Mother Assunta who died in Corinaldo in 1954; while on the right those of Alessandro Serenelli, her murderer who, in an attempt to rape her, brutally killed her at the age of 11. In the central altar in white Carrara marble, next to a wooden sculpture of Santa Maria Goretti, there is a silver urn containing the bone of the Saint's arm, the arm with which the Martyr tried to defend herself from her attacker. Entering this church and seeing the remains of the Saint's mother and her murderer, you breathe an air of peace and forgiveness. That forgiveness which, despite the horrible crime, was granted to the murderer by the Saint and her mother.

Costruita nel XVIII secolo, con decorazioni dorate in stile tardo-barocco, ha unica navata sormontata da volta a botte e bassa cupola. Sopra l'ingresso si staglia un bell'organo. Sanctuary dedicated to Santa Maria Goretti, formerly the church of Sant'Agostino. Built in the 18th century, with gilded decorations in the late Baroque style, it has a single nave surmounted by a barrel vault and a low dome. Above the entrance stands a beautiful organ.

L’interno si sviluppa con una singola navata, predominano i colori chiari come il bianco e il colore crema. E’ evidente che la chiesa ha avuto una recente ristrutturazione. Il Santuario vede la presenza delle spoglie della mamma Assunta della Santa e di Alessandro Serenelli che fu il persecutore di Maria Goretti che in seguito si pentì e si converti alla religione cristiana. The church is located in the heart of the village. A small square in front of it gives a little respite to the large classical brick façade. The interior develops with a single nave, light colors like white and cream predominate. It is evident that the church has had a recent renovation. The Sanctuary sees the presence of the remains of the mother Assunta della Santa and Alessandro Serenelli who was the persecutor of Maria Goretti who later repented and converted to the Christian religion.
