★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Considerando che fu consacrata il 10 aprile 1910 per fare in modo che fosse vissuta appieno la recente parte est della città e per accogliere i monaci del monastero d' Idria , si presenta con uno stile neoromanico esterno con un rosone centrale e degli archi a sesto acuto che richiamano pero' lo stile tipico delle costruzioni normanne: tutto cio' rappresenta una caratteristica insolita per la barocca Lecce.
Ma è l' interno a risplendere di colori con il suo stile neogotico e gli affreschi dedicati a San Antonio...bello anche il Baldacchino al di dietro dell' altare con lo stesso matroneo... ribadisco...tutto ciò costruito solamente 112 anni fa...dovrebbe essere senza altro più conosciuta e ammirata in tutto il suo splendore...accanto una antica struttura con decorazioni cinquecentesche, ad impreziosire il complesso, donato da Letizia Balsamo, nobildonna leccese...

But it is the interior that shines with colors with its neo-Gothic style and the frescoes dedicated to San Antonio ... the Baldacchino behind the altar with the same women's gallery is also beautiful ... I repeat ... all this built only 112 years ago ... it should have been better known and admired in all its splendor without anything else ... next to it an ancient structure with sixteenth-century decorations, to embellish the complex, donated by Letizia Balsamo, a noblewoman from Lecce ...
