Church of origin prior to the thirteenth century, it is also called "Church of Santa Maria della Frasca", since, in ancient times the place was uncultivated, with spontaneous vegetation of shrubs. It was on the border between the village of Binzago, now incorporated in the city of Cesano Maderno, and Bovisio, and belonged to two different territorial districts, respectively the parish of Seveso and the parish of Desio.

Il nome "santuario" farebbe immaginare una chiesa di grandi dimensioni, ma seguendo le indicazioni stradali si arriva ad una piccola chiesetta. Che sia antica non ci sono dubbi, anche il piccolo piazzale antistante lo testimonia: è pavimentato con un acciottolato di antica data. Nonostante sia di dimensioni contenute è meta di molteplici pellegrinaggi provenienti dai paesi del circondario, la maggior parte effettuati a piedi. È giornalmente aperta ai fedeli anche se l'orario non è molto prolungato; ma chi riesce ad entrare si trova proiettato nel passato: non solo affreschi ma anche pavimento e panche rievocano anni lontani oltre ad essere immersi in un' oasi di pace e tranquillità. Se il portone d'ingresso è chiuso c'è la possibilità di intravedere una parte dell' interno attraverso una piccola finestra laterale. Nonostante siano trascorsi diversi secoli è ancora in buone condizioni anche se gli affreschi risultano un po' deteriorati. Chi desidera staccarsi dalla frenesia o vuole passare del tempo in tranquillità quí trova il luogo ideale. Small church in the Binzago district of Cesano Maderno dating back to the 13th century partially decorated with frescoes (those that have remained visible). The name "sanctuary" would suggest a large church, but following the road signs you get to a small church. There is no doubt that it is ancient, even the small square in front testifies to it: it is paved with an ancient cobblestone. Despite being small in size, it is the destination of many pilgrimages from the surrounding villages, most of which are carried out on foot. It is open daily to the faithful even if the hours are not very long; but those who manage to enter find themselves projected into the past: not only frescoes but also floors and benches evoke distant years as well as being immersed in an oasis of peace and tranquility. If the entrance door is closed there is the possibility of seeing a part of the interior through a small side window. Although several centuries have passed, it is still in good condition even if the frescoes are a bit deteriorated. Those who want to break away from the frenzy or want to spend time in peace here find the ideal place.

A	Alessandro 2302 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo santuario con affreschi in buono stato di conservazione, situato in linea d'aria tra Cesano Maderno e Bovisio Masciago (forse più vicino alla seconda). La chiesa è piccola e spoglia all'esterno, ma all'interno rivela la sua sorpesa. Merita una visita. Beautiful sanctuary with frescoes in good condition, located as the crow flies between Cesano Maderno and Bovisio Masciago (perhaps closer to the latter). The church is small and bare on the outside, but on the inside it reveals its surprise. Worth a visit.
