Nice sanctuary accessible by car. The parking lot next to the sanctuary can accommodate several cars. Strategic point for departure towards excursions like Pizzo Formico, Farno and Parafulmine. Free parking. Well maintained sanctuary.

Beautiful church of very ancient origin, with very valuable frescoes in the apse, and no less interesting frescoes of popular devotion along the nave. We went there on a Sunday afternoon and it was open, but there was no indication of opening hours.

Beautiful sanctuary overlooking the val Gandino and the middle Val Seriana. It is located above the village of Casnigo, reachable both by car and by an easy path.

To visit at least once. Church located in a truly beautiful location overlooking the Val Gandino, a small parking lot but a large lawn that houses a small playground for the little ones. Next to it there is a bar which unfortunately is only open on Sundays in the afternoon. Hiking trails of varying length and difficulty start from here.

The sanctuary of the Santissima Trinità di Casnigo is located in an elevated position (700 m a.s.l.), near Ronco Trinità, in the locality of Casnigo, on a hill on the slopes of Monte Farno. The place appears to have been inhabited since very remote times, as evidenced by the discovery of prehistoric finds. In the Middle Ages there was a watchtower that allowed the control of a large portion of the middle Seriana Valley. The church was built in several stages; at least three are hypothesized: a first ancient construction - perhaps simply a small chapel - then incorporated into the small portico in front of the main entrance of the church, of unknown date; a fifteenth-century hall that goes from the entrance to just under half of the current complex, and which contains a series of frescoes; and the largest sixteenth-century hall, erected after 1575 and before 1596, which presents, among other things, the large fresco of the Last Judgment, painted above a wall tympanum that divides the hall from the apse, where the main altar is located . The sixteenth-century hall is also considerably higher than the rest of the building. Between the end of the fifteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth the sanctuary was enriched by the two main pictorial cycles that can be admired today: that of the Marinoni and that of the Baschenis. The church belonged to the Confraternity of the Holy Trinity, established in 1523 with a bull of Pope Paul III, which had its seat in the church of Santo Spirito in Saxia in Rome. In 1575 he received a visit from Carlo Borromeo, and at the time boasted 500 confreres. They participated in sacred functions by gathering in a sort of matroneum located above the fifteenth-century hall, and overlooking the sixteenth-century hall by means of an elegant loggia with arches on columns.
