★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccola chiesa antica e preziosa. Contiene degli affreschi bellissimi. A lei si appoggia l'arco di gallieno. Uno di quei posti magici di Roma dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato.
 Small ancient and precious church. Contains some beautiful frescoes. The Gallienian arch leans on her. One of those magical places in Rome where time seems to have stopped.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa è storicamente sede della parrocchia di Santa Maria Maggiore. Sulla parete di sinistra si trova la Pietra Scellerata, vistosamente erosa dai credenti che gli attribuivano poteri curativi contro la rabbia. Inoltre, di sicuro, è l'unica chiesa di Roma che ha invertito per ben due volte (ad inizio 900 e negli anni settanta) la collocazione di ingresso e abside.
The church is historically the seat of the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore. On the left wall is the Villainous Stone, conspicuously eroded by believers who attributed it with healing powers against anger. Furthermore, it is certainly the only church in Rome that has reversed the position of the entrance and apse twice (at the beginning of the 1900s and in the seventies).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non è appariscente da fuori e non è bellissima neanche dentro, lì messa in quell'angolo di una piazzetta pedonale dove la scena è rubata dal cd arco di Gallieno a cui si appoggia e al quale ha scippato uno dei due fornici abbattuti. Unico esempio di chiesa che ha cambiato orientamento della pianta almeno in paio di volte per tornare alle origini. Piuttosto spoglia nasconde dei tesori....gli storici citano la Madonna con bambino ma per me il pezzo forte è il trittico con uno stupendo San Sebastiano, San Vito e santa margherita e la miracolosa "pietra scellerata". Da riscoprire. Guardate le foto e le altre recensioni su Roma e le sue meraviglie che ho fatto.
It is not flashy from the outside and it is not beautiful even inside, placed there in that corner of a pedestrian square where the scene is stolen from the so-called Gallienus arch on which it leans and on which he has snatched one of the two knocked down arches. The only example of a church that has changed the orientation of the plant at least in couple of times to go back to its origins. Rather bare it hides some treasures .... historians mention the Madonna with child but for me the highlight is the triptych with a wonderful San Sebastian, San Vito and Santa Margherita and the miraculous "wicked stone".
